visible flaring and noise. denver fire says emissions from today are not hazardous. yesterday's release did not pose any immediate release to the community. air quality tests are on going. record setting heat today in denver. we hit 85 degrees at dia breaking a record setback in 2014 by 2 degrees. the heat on top of dry conditions have the national weather service warning of near critical wildfire for parts of colorado, wyoming. more in the full forecast coming up later. right now crews in eagle count i are trying to fight a wildfire near the towns of meridith and thomasville. the sheriff's office says evacuations are possible and people should avoid that area. we'll share updates as we learn them online at 9news.com. hillary clinton is taking a

elizabeth warren will campaign for hillary clinton. sanders will also be at cu boulder on monday to support amendment 69. also on monday, the centennial gun club is hosting donald trump junior at an event that starts at 10:30 a.m. that day. denver police spent the day searching a motel on colfax where a woman was shot and killed overnighted. this hne the airway motel. police remained on scene several hours later while waiting for a warrant to search other rooms. they did not release any details about the victim. the pacific northwest braced for another round of rough weather. heavy rain stranded drivers in portland last night and two tornadoes touched down on oregon's coast.

hey there, happy saturday. danielle grant here in the 9 backyard. the whole world was outside today as we saw temperatures soar into the 80s in. denver, we broke that record. 85 now stands in the record books. our old record, 83 setback in 2014. upper 80s across the far eastern plains. it was a hot one with the sunshine. about 72 degrees in steamboat and low 80s in grand junction. right now at loads of sunshine with the winds out of the east northeast now. here in the 9 backyard, it's a comfortable saturday afternoon. watching the temperatures sitting at 84. it has dry across two-thirds of the country. now real wet weather to speak of except for this one. this monstore of a storm just about to approach portions of

showers. but the winds will be the worst. high wind warnings on the coastline until 2:00 in the morning. that's when we're anticipating 50 mile-per-hour gusts in seattle and south toward portland. flash flood watches will be in place for parts of idaho as well. remnants of what was a typhoon now captured in the jet stream and pushes as that front marchs through, look at that. another one back behind it. no relief in sight as rain, winds will be part of the forecast for the next week. no rain around here, only gusty winds. tonight we're going to be watching the winds picking up 10 to 20 miles per hour. keeping our temperatures pretty comfortable overnight in the 40s and 30s across eastern colorado and a little cooler up in the mountains.
