help crews fighting that wildfire in southern colorado. hundreds of people were forced to evacuate. junkins fire is 15,751 acres, burning east of west cliff. there is still no containment on this. 114 people working to construct a fire line today, they hope to have some containment by later today. we are learning that there was another home destroyed. >> we have also tried to get a few homeowners where it is fe properties. sadly, we did confirm about half an hour ago that we did lose another home last night or early yesterday evening. so right now we can confirm that we did lose two homes at this point and five additional structures. >> our thoughts are with everyone out there right now. high winds grounded water dropping helicopters yesterday.

fire north. the state of colorado has been busy coordinating firefighter efforts in custer and pueblo counties. officials are trying to figure out the best way to deploy resources as they keep a close eye on the junkins fire. jessica oh, has more. >> reporter: junkins fire was declared a local disaster yesterday. immediately colorado office of emergency management a few hours later started deploying serv the command center of course coordinating efforts for this fire. the latest on this is we know fema has approved funding for the fire. we know that the national guard has been approved to fight this fire. however because the winds were so strong yesterday, they were unable to go in the air. wind gusts hit up to 70 miles per hour. so a lot of efforts are continuing to go on here. they were deployed again today at 6:00 this morning. of course we know that there

custer and pueblo counties that were unable to know about this fire because a lot of the areas are rural. we are now entering the communication portion of the building. this is where these guys are able to reach some of the others who aren't able to know what's going on with the fire. listen to how they were able to reach some hunters. >> a lot of hunters for safety purposes contrary amateur radios, small portable radios. what we did is tied together that we're able to tie together over a microwave. we issued bulletins across those. >> reporter: we often get to see what the fires look like from the scene. this is the information pub, where all the coordinating happens. the folks here as well as on the ground and in the air will continue their fire fighting efforts today. >> thank you. a great perspective inside the

wildfire. will they see any relief today? >> they will. it is cooler, so that is good. red flag warning is not in effect at four locations around pueblo or custer but it will still be gusty. winds will be gusting up to 20 or 30 miles per hour. there is the red flag warning. it is well south of the areas where we are seeing the fires. it is in effect from 1:00 until 7:00. that's for far southern colorado, tin dad, kim, gusts there to 30 miles per hour. are a little bit stronger. to our south we are seeing strong gusts over monument hill where gusts are up to 38 miles per hour out of the south. we've got 35-mile per hour gusts at watkins, 24 at d.i.a. heading to colorado springs the gusts are around 30 miles per hour. it's that kind of wind we are expecting around places near the junkins fire.

interested. donald trump is in colorado today, one day before the final presidential debate. he is rallying in colorado springs this afternoon. it starts at 1:00. the doors opened at 10:00. then he will move to grand junction for an afternoon rally at 3:00. the final debate is tomorrow night in las vegas. republicans are hoping for a new development in the hillary clinton e-mail controversy that could help donald trump make up ground if he can hammer home republican congressional leaders are alleging a cover up following news that the state department asked officials to lower the classification of the sensitive e-mail. fbi notes released yesterday revealed discussion of quid pro quo in trying to get the e-mail reclassified though both state and fbi officials deny any bargaining took place. nine children were rescued from the fbi's latest sting that recovers local juveniles

law enforcement arrested 11 pemex plotting victims and 32 customers buying services. operation cross country is in the 10th year. this year it took place last thursday, friday, saturday in colorado. this is video from the raids that took place across the the country last week. the fbi targeted hotels, truck stops, street corners, and social media apps really to narrow in on offenders. across the country, 82 children were rescued along with 239 pemex ot people exploiting the victims. a man who admitted to killing people last year was back in front of a judge. attorneys discussed which records should be released from the state mental facility. the defendant has been there since may when found mentally incompetent. he had multiple outbursts during the hearing today. there is a civil case ongoing in denver. victims of a shooting are suing planned parenthood.

in court today requesting records from the criminal case. the judge will decide which records to release for the civil trial if any. iraq kurdish forces say they are pausing after capturing a handful of villages from the east from isis. as iraqi army presses ahead with the next stage of the pregnancy. the large complex battle for mosul is expected to last weeks or even months. it will involve more than 25,000 troops. the u.s. military is providing providing air support and playing a role on the ground. >> reporter: the offensive to push isis out of its iraqi strong hold mosul is continuing. we have pushed forward to a front line position held by iraq troops. we are just outside of a village about 30 miles south of mosul. this is an ongoing operation. iraqi troops think they've cleared most of this village

is still some isis presence it is believed. that's why you are seeing people leaving the town. they're afraid that the operation is ongoing. but generally they're happy. they say they feel they have been liberated. people have been flashing victory signs. but there could be snipers inside. there could be a suicide bomber waiting for a last stand. but in general, this is how the operation is unfolding. iraqi forces advance. they take they feel they have sufficiently cleared it they leap frog to the next and to the next until they reach mosul. what happens in mosul is the big question mark. perhaps more than 1 million people remain in mosul. we have seen the people leaving just this little village. we don't know what will happen when iraqi forces reach mosul itself. >> a lot of uncertainties still happening there.

nearly here and millions will be heading to ski areas loading into the lifts across the state. what goes into making sure all the lifts and gondolas in colorado are running safely? inspectors with the department of regulatory agencies check every lift sometimes several times a year. they do what are called load tests using water to weigh lifts down as they're full. normally there are around 800 inspections on lifts and later today this should be exciting. matt takes us through a typical load test, a day in the life of one of the inspectors. finding a lucky penny today in denver is like finding a golden ticket. these babies are worth $1000 each. >> why researchers say more boys are born from ivf than boys. we are talking with a top

a few more clouds in the as bad as we saw yesterday. in other parts of the state though we are seeing fairly gusty conditions. while there is no red flag warning over the junkins fire it is still fairly gusty, 24- mile per hour gusts right now out of the southwest near west cliff. those gusts are going to stay strong through 6:00 p.m. anywhere between 25 and 35 miles per hour. the winds are eventually be shifting to the west overnight tonight while still looking at

cliff. it will take until tomorrow afternoon to see some of those gusts around the junkins fire significantly die down. the picture looks very calm here in the 9 backyard and outside 9 news where flags in the front of the building are not doing much of anything. that said, d.i.a. is reporting 24-mile per hour gusts. near colorado springs we've got 29-mile per hour gusts. the places across the state where we have a red flag in colorado. this is going to cover places like lahunta, trinidad, kim. from 1:00 to 7:00 the red flag warning is in effect with low relative humidity and 30-mile per hour gusts will contribute to the development of fires in that part of the state. it is 62 in denver, 57 greeley, 40s and 50s in the mountains. in the 9 backyard, a few clouds. our temperature is 57.

afternoon highs in the 60s. we will see a chance for showers. right now we have snow in the northern mountains. this is on the edge of an upper level low. that's that dip in the jet stream that will scoot past colorado. it will continue to bring winds through wednesday and it will cool us ever so slightly into wednesday afternoon. gusts are going to be on the stronger side through the afternoon today and dying down by tonight at least for area. they'll be strong across the mountains and to the south, palmar divide to colorado springs. plus we will see a chance for rain not only in the mountains where it can be a rain/snow mix. the chance is very small. if you see it, it comes around 9:30. most of us in denver will be dry. we need any moisture we can get. that's the only chance that we have for the next five days. temperatures today are in the

fertility could have huge implications. the study done by researchers based here finds that more baby boys are born to women undergoing invitro fertilization or ivf. an endocrinologist says the amount of male and female embryos transferred during ivf process was almost equal but the number of live births were significantly skewed to male. >> something is happening beee towards male. it's an exciting step to think about trying to understand if there is a genetic change or something happening that we can test for to improve implantation in live birth rates in all embryos, if we can identify what the factor is in the male embryo that's increasing the chance of live birth. >> it's very important to mention that ccrm does not do gender selection, meaning they
