terrible crash involving a semi in superior. a 35 year old man from thorn ton was the victim. a truck tipped over on him. he was caught in the rear tires of a semi truck. he suffered massive trauma to his lower body but was conscious for a brief time after officers arrived. a medical chopper came to the scene. 128 was closed for hours in the area and cut off businesses, apartments, bloom field jail. the highway reopened just after 10:00 this morning. colorado highway 133 is closed between hug kiss and glenwood springs because of a rock slide. it will be at least saturday before they can reopen the area. the slide yesterday left more than 100 tons of debris on the highway. it damaged the surface of the road way and a concrete barrier as well. we'll keep you posted. authorities want mountain

after dangerous traps were found on the dirt surfer trail. the sheriffs office is working with other agencies to determine where the traps came from. anyone with information is asked to call eagle county sheriffs office at (970)328- 8500. the reentry process begins for some of the junkins fire evacuees. the fire burning in homes and forced hundreds near west cliff to evacuate. at 10:00 residents from some subdivisions started returning home. it's not much now but the fire is 3% contained. it has burned almost 17,000 acres. on the opposite end of the spectrum can you believe we are talking about ski season right now? it is officially less than 24 hours away. this is a look at a basin, what

it is illegal in colorado to show completed ballots including posting photos of yours on social media. if you do, it's a misdemeanor. the purpose is to prevent voter fraud. colorado is one of many states that ban ballot selfies. an intense battle but quicker than expected. iraq's prime minister is expecting confidence in the fight to retake mosul from isis. >> reporte when iraq security forces will be penetrating into mosul itself. again, this is iraq's second largest city and it is the superbowl of battles when it comes to islamic state being fought in iraq. we know that the battle is going apace. we have seen advances yesterday and the day before and they're likely to be quite a bit of action today. the plan today is for the

temperatures are still kind of cool. we'll be warming to the 60s by this afternoon. looking to the weekend it will look and feel more like summer time around here, the the metro area. in the high country it is looking more like winter. this is our web camera in breckinridge, a little bit of snow fall on the slopes as they're working away getting ready to open up. a basin tomorrow, 9:00 am sharp, bright and blue biking jaunt. it feels fantastic, cool in the 30s in steamboat and nederland. the month isn't over but we're running pretty warm. it is the 4th warmest october on record. we'll see what the next several days do to that number of course. we are at 49 at the airport. it is still cool with winds out of the southeast at eight miles

talk about getting a return on your investment. we'll talk about that story in a second. first, one involving the environmental protection agency. the internal watch dog says the agency should have acted sooner to respond to the water crisis in flint, michigan. inspector general says the cy enough information to issue emergency order protecting residents of flint against the water as early as june last year. that's seven months before the epa declared emergency. now to the big investment. a company that owns an apartment complex in denver just sold the complex for $112 million. that's more than double the original price 16 years ago

lowry apartments are along south fairmont drive. there are about 400 units in the complex. a big return on that investment. if you spend time in breckinridge you will see changes with parking. those could make it more expensive to spend time in the mountain town. parking along main street has always been free but soon the town will start charging to park along main eets. paid parking stations have started to be installed. paying in december. the town is trying to keep people from parking in town and then skiing. we'll have more on this this afternoon. three men successfully made it to every single brewery in colorado. that's 298 to be exact in case you are counting. they began their beer tour in january last year. they call themselves the colorado beer barens.

witness stand it can be emotional and scary. a fresno california courtroom is trying to fix that problem. their solution is puppies. therapy dogs will serve as victims' advocates. they hope the dogs will help young witnesses calm their nerves. the first one was used to help comfort a girl crying on the witness stand. some judges need time to warm up to the idea but the district attorney says the dogs will be used every day it will get warmer.
