the protest against social injustice that started with one nfl quarterback has spread to college football. today fans at the university of alabama chose to sit and hold their hands up in protest during the national anthem. the students say sitting was an act of protest for both campus issues and nationwide inequality. they want the university of alabama to add language of equality and inclusion to official documents like the code of conduct. they also want the school to

they were earlier today. you can see temperatures in the low #80s infulness and denver -- fort collins and denver, and lamar closer to 90, and up in the mountains 50s, and 60s, grand junction into the 7 others. it was a -- 70s. it was a warm one from the western slope up to the high country. the eastern plains and a pretty day one as well. good news fire danger should back off just a bit even though we're in the watching for any the next couple of days. you can see pushing in across the mid section nothing going on, but into new england a storm system has been pushing up to the northeast wrapping around the cold air from canada, and producing a little bit of snow fall in the northern adirondacks. in new york nice to see a change of the seasons, and winter will be here before we know it. not in colorado tomorrow though. high pressure is anchored across the state.

zipped right into the front range tomorrow afternoon, and this just means our temperatures will cool off a few degrees. no, not bringing any rain or snow, it's just going to be that slight little cool off where i think temperatures will be just about perfect in the mid-70s. tonight very comfortable. down to 44. mostly clear skies and the wind quieting down. eastern colorado 30s and 40s, 37 in winter park, not too bad. mid and alamosa. and tonight you won't see that much on futurecast, and even for the start of tomorrow. just a few clouds along the continental divide, but that's about it. once again plenty of sunshine going on statewide. this takes us through the afternoon and evening, and again mostly clear. i feel like a broken record. i can't wait for a good storm system. tomorrow is 75, mostly sunny

we stay in the lower 70s, so it will feel slightly cooler but still comfortable. in northeast colorado 60s. nederland, black hawk about 65 or so. we hop up 10 degrees in downtown denver, but still even though it's classified as a cool off we're still 15 degrees above the average. upper 60s and low 70s in northern colorado, and we do have a pushing in monday into tuesday bringing a little snow fall in the higher peaks on the mountains, maybe a couple of inches top. maybe a couple of light sprinkles by tuesday morning cooling off temperatures to the low 70s by tuesday and wednesday. we pop back to the 80s on thursday, and then look at halloween weekend. wow. temperatures staying in the 70s as we wind down the month of october. don't go anywhere. 9 news at 10:00 returns right
