contempt of court case against joe arpaio. the charges stem from a racial profiling case in which the judge ordered the sheriff to stop targeting latinos. arpaio will not be arrested and will not have to appear in person. the trial is set to begin in december. he is running for his seventh sheriff office. actor the debate tonight of several third-party candidates. one even admits he won't get a vote from his wife, his son or himself. >> we asked people not to vote for us because we're fully aware that you are wasting your vote when you're voting for us in our current system. >> i'm just trying to get my message out there so people know i exist. i think i'm the best candidate in this race. >> there's no point if they don't let you debate.

>> because they say if you vote for a third-party candidate, you're throwing your vote away and i say as long as we have that mentality, then we'll never change the system. >> it's going to take mass action by the people. that's one of the reasons i wanted to come to this debate. >> it's called the free and equal debate and was also held in 2008 and 2012. then there's the third- party presidential candidate who has a real chance to make an impact this year. evan mcmullen could become the fith george wallace in 1968. ross perot never did it. evan mcmullen is an unaffiliated serve active running neck and neck in polls in utah with donald trump and hillary clinton. he's campaigning tonight in colorado. originally he wanted to pick off enough states to deny trump and clinton an electoral house majority. now he's just out to make a

number of states or some state in a region, it sends a message to washington. it sends a message to the republican party there are people who still stand on principle. we will not go along with the republicans if they are going to become a pop list white nationalist or white supremacist party. >> we featured an extended interview today on next and you can clark facebook page. tonight mike pence returns to colorado. the campaign stop comes after visits earlier in the day to reno and salt lake city. pence is scheduled to take the staple at 7 p.m. at the colorado event -- stage at 7 p.m. at the colorado event center. americans are angry. there's a lot of research to back that up. gallop released a poll this month that those less than 1/3 of americans are satisfied with the direction of this country.

the largest theme pa in australia closed after an accident killed four people on a river rapids ride. the ride malfunctioned at the dream world park outside brisbane. two men and two women in their early 30s and early 40s were killed. it involved the conveyor belt of the ride. minutes before thci u.s. olympian gold medalist was on that ride. matt sentrowist tweeted after the accident just got off a ride 15 minutes ago that has one person seriously injured and two others trapped. about an hour later he sent another message saying thoughts and prayers going out to the people and families involved. the flight from hell actually originated in san francisco yesterday. it was a british airways flight

told at one point the flight was being diverted to calgary. then they were rerouted to vancouver because of a technical issue. on the ground all 25 crew members were taken to the hospital and left the passengers in their seats. crew members were checked out and released. passengers were bussed away and spent the day trying to figure out how to get to london. new chip cards were designed to cut down on credit card fraud and they do in face to face transactions. however, the added security measures have led to an card not present crimes. they cost more than 3 billion last year, an estimated 4 billion this year and a projected 7 billion plus by 2020. >> they're going to make the guarantees that technology is going to protect me and keep my information safe, i would expect better. >> there are some things you can do to protect yourself shopping online. do not store your credit card numbers on store websites of

online sites and never purchase anything on public wi-fi. the law against taking a selfie with your ballot filled out in the shot is headed to court in colorado. justin timberlake apparently isn't aware tennessee has a law li rs. the singer took a selfie at the ballot box in memphis and posted it on instagram. he was engage couraging young people to vote early. tennessee -- he was encouraging young people to vote early. tennessee's law just took effect this year making illegal for others to take pictures or talk while voting to protect voter privacy. in colorado the law that makes selfies illegal goes back to 1891 which prohibits ballot sharing. state senator owen hill and a du student filed a federal lawsuit saying it's a violation of free speech. leaving behind a foundation for success, the new owners

through omaha and chicago. there may be airport and travel delays due to the low pressure system in this part of the country. moisture is very limited. welcome rain in northern california, oregon and washington. we'll do 95 in phoenix tomorrow, 70 in los angeles, mid-70s in denver. average high this time of year is 62. cool pool of air retreating north of us once again. cloud deck eroding out. very little threat of fog, decent travel weathei country the next24 to 36 hours of 26 in leadville, 35 in steamboat, low 40s from greeley to colorado springs and on the far south eastern plains where temperatures will run above average again but not quite as warm as today. mid-70s in denver, close to 80 down south, nice day in evergreen, conifer and bailey, highs between 63 and 68 degrees.

friend carmelo anthony. the former friend had 19 points dialing in long distance early, but cleveland has this guy named lebron james who turns out to be pretty good, double double in game one for the king. the nba's first game of the season goes to the team that won the last game of last season, the cavs, 117-88. start and finish with the broncos. the best part of last night's game may have come after the game when the head coach got the game ball. >> big win, baby, cool first win against texas, baby, welcome back, coach.
