numbers last year. students in the united states have a ways to go. there's only about a third of 4th and 8th graders have strong canadian deputyic performances for science. for 12th graders t drop toed 1 in 5. some encouraging news, girls have closed the gender gap in science, and they are performing as well as boys in the subject. right now we are 5th place for the warmest october, and i did a little calculation with the forecast numbers. i don't know if we will be able to move out of fifth place. we will trail out of the extremely hot period in the early 1950s. drought conditions continuing over the state, especially for the front range and parts of albert and lincoln county, and nationwide, it's been exceptionally dry here in denver, and also in los angeles
