viewer advisory warning before you do that video. i'm out here in the dark backyard, come on. >> i'm sorry. >> give me a break here. around here today, it's going to be very warm. no overcoat, no gloves, and nothing, because it's already very warm in the 50s and 60s. today's record is 79 degrees. we did that in 1950. 1950, by the way, the warmest october on record. in denver, we have 63 and 34 comi in on tieing second place. really kind of depends what our low is going to be for the day whether we're able to scoot up there and tie 1963, 1964. we don't have a shot at 1950. not with temperatures the way they are today. we will be quite warm today. mid to upper 70s. we will be in record territory, looks like we'll come up maybe a degree or two shy.

rain and snow moving toward north western colorado during the day today. mostly fall in the form of rain and a few spots, especially in and around the flat tops could get more than a quarter of an inch, but that's the only part of the state that is looking at any kind of moisture during the day. boy, we could sure use it around here. we're 75% below average for the month to date here in the metro area and we will finish the month with no snow. >> thank you, marty. 5:32, our drive is fairly quiet. on our freeways, most of our area side streets and in our outlying areas, drive to fort collins are in the clear. around 2:25 and 17th, clear here on the highways, but side streets, we have a problem out to the east. drive times between e-470 and your drive along 70, pretty good, right on track to start things off for a monday, and

it has taken place at the intersection of 16th and yosemite. and this is a roll over crash. we're waiting to hear how long the road could be blocked and if there were any injuries involved. thanks, amelia. it is 5:33 now. the presidential election is one week from tomorrow. donald trump is enjoying a boost following the announcement that the fbi is looking at more e-mails in the investigation over the hillary clto has some explaning to do. and some are saying what the fbi did illegal. >> they are saying that. that's a suggestion from democrats, like senate minority leader, harry reid. he says revealing such vague information days before the election is a violation of the hatch act. now reid sent a letter to fbi director, james comey. through your partisan actions, you may have broken the law,

authority to influence an election. now hillary clinton's campaign is also raising suspicion about comey's announcement. top democrats call it vague and suspicious. political scandal since water gate. and it is everybody's deepest hope that justice at last will be beautifully delivered. >> to send a letter to congress saying we may have some information, we don't know if it's significant or not, without even looking at what is inside there, you know, 10, 11 days before a presidential election, it's very curious. >> now hillary clinton didn't really talk about the issue

she see if she addresses it today and if the fbi director has a response to that. cheryl. >> the search continues at a weld county landfill. they are looking for the body of a 13 month old from wyoming. this is 90 miles from the child's home in laramie. police arrested logan rogers. the boyfriend of the child's mother. rogers will be in court this week for manslaughter and wreckless child endangerment and a lot of evidence to examine. police are looking for a suspect in a shooting saturday night in denver that disrupted a halloween party. two men died and a third is in critical condition. it happened in the 4300 block of columbine. one of the victim's family members says somebody showed up at a family halloween party and started shooting. police have not given any information about the suspect. authorities say an 83-year- old woman was seriously hurt

it rolled over her in a 7- eleven parking lot. troopers say the woman hurt was judith warren. officials say the driver may have forgotten to put the car in park. more than 100 people on an american airlines flight from los angeles to toronto are safe after the plane had to be diverted to d.i.a. because of a strange smell on board. kent powell said the air bus was diverted here because of the odor on maintenance crews are investigating the cause. the plane landed safely. people were able to get off and stay in the terminal. the airline is working to get the passengers to their destinations. the i-70 mown town corridor will see extra delays this week for mitigation work. c-dot will stop traffic for 20 minutes at a time near georgetown hill. so a helicopter can hang new panels. crews will work from 8:00 in the morning until 5:00 in the afternoon. c-dot says people traveling

should plan on delays up to two hours. >> it is 5:37 now on this halloween morning. trick-or-treaters will be going door to door tonight. the town of parker has a different halloween tradition. andrew sorenson is getting ready for the halloween festivities. main street is decked out there and they have a parade for the kids, too. >> reporter: yeah, i'm looking forward to the sun coming up, it's a little spooky there's a giant toranchula. they have plenty of decorations, and the denver area is getting recognized as one of the best areas in the country for trick-or-treating. ranked as 7th and parker, according to the website, is ranked 5th. next door is this really cool feature on their app this year. i guess they had it for the last couple of years. called the treat map, which

they can mark haunted houses where kids can explore, and parker, the home of trick-or- treat on main street. they've been posting this since 2007 and they will shut down this main street area from 1:00 this afternoon until 10:00 tonight. the event will run from 3:30 to 7:00. businesses will hand out candy and other fun surprises as well, including maze down the street that your kids can enjoy. organizers tell us you can expect som year. last year, the senior center down here in parker center did a flash mob of thriller. so, there's plenty going on down here from 3:30 until 7:00. it's going to be a fun time. i might come down and check it out. cheryl. >> it is a blast. so many different communities do such a good job of that. all right, andrew, thanks so much. officers and deputies across colorado are on the lookout for drunk drivers with a continuation of the holiday weekend. halloween dui enement goes

as well. that's one of the reasons we are so warm here. 50s in the foothills. 50s and 60s around the metro area. through the day we go, pushing up into the mid and upper 70s. again, it will be breezy at times here, gary, but nothing similar to the winds we're seeing in the foothills. we might see a couple 20-mile per hour gusts, that will about do it. >> hang on to the hair in the foothills. most skiers had their favorite mountain, now one site is ranking the top five. we'll ll gadgets review thinks will be the favorite. coming up, the broncos got a much-needed win against the chargers. not an easy one, though. we'll have a look at that game

with the loss of their last game against the chargers looming over them, the broncos came back and beat san diego last night. denver won 27-19, but it

away twice from deep in the red zone and threw a pick six. the defense came through with three interceptions. two of which led to 14 points. >> that's the type of defense we play. it's enough to go around for everybody. it's great on our team. nobody is waiting around for somebody else to make a play. we are all trying to make plays from left corner to right corner and everybody inbetween. we all feel like this next play is our chance to make a play for our team and that mentality really drives the type of style we play on defense. >> the win lifted the broncos record to 6-2. their next game is against the oakland raiders next sunday night. you'll be able to watch it here on 9news. there was a scary moment on the field, though, when coach wade phillips had to be taken to the hospital after an opposing player ran into him on the sidelines. phillips is back home. he should be back at home today. i saw this all unfold and

and they were chanting wade and it's good to see he will be all right. >> it is good to see that. i'm sure he will joke about it today, because that's who he is. the chicago cubs managed to stay alive. they faced elimination in game five of the world series last night against the cleveland indians at wrigley field. but john lester pitched six inning, pretty stellar, with two earned runs and one hit. chn maker. the clutch closer notched out four strikeouts. the cubs won it 3-2. they send the series back to cleveland now. the next game is tuesday night. that will be another elimination game for the cubs. >> the cub fans are like, i can breathe again. >> i'm glad they got one win in chicago. so, all right, 5:44 now. the denver firefighter's museum haunted? you'll have to decide. a haunted tour with coleen

marty and amelia. >> here it is, so many folks going, where's our snow? where's our snow? there it is. that's on interstate 80 up near lake tahoe. they have had some heavy snow over the course of the last couple of days. chain laws in effect in that part of the country. for us today, we are worried about high fire danger in southern colorado. trinidad, all the way towards springfield, red flag warning starts at 10:00 this morning. and the high wind warning continues in and central portions of wyoming. the panhandle of nebraska with wind advisories and red flag warnings for very strong wind. here, we're going to see the wind die down during the afternoon and evening in the foothills. so the strong winds we're having now in the foothills will slack off. they are not going to calm down, but they will be back down into the 20 to 30-mile per hour range, not the 40 to 50- mile per hour range. we're seeing this morning. as far as temperatures go

looking very good. 50s and 60s. >> good to hear, marty. it's 5:45. today on your drive, we'll check out our views. traditional cameras, not working so well. we have a still shot of what it looks like. both sides, i-25 north and south, excellent conditions. we're looking at 55 to 65 miles per hour. linking up with c-470. we have an easy start. the train to the plane, if you are headed from union station to th minute drive, and overall, the side streets and freeways have been clear. the one exception is a rollover crash at yosemite and 16th. >> all right, thank you much for that. so, instead of walking down the street or the neighborhood for trick-or-treating tonight, some choose to walk through haunted houses and get scared. but, what about the places that or houses that are actually haunted? coleen is at one of those

many stories about this museum haunted, could cause a skeptic pause. >> is this place haunted? that's for you to decide and all morning long, we'll take you on a live ghost hunt. we'll have psychologists to explain the reasoning behind why some people think places are haunted and others think it's all a hoax. but first, i want to introduce winn farrell with the denver firefighter's museum. thank you so much for being with us. tell me about the history this museum, where we are right now. >> the building was built in 1909. so, it's over 100 years old. and it was built initially to house horse drawn apparatus and had a wood floor and then in the mid 20s, they went to all reenforced concrete, because they went all mechanized. >> i want to talk about what we are seeing here, give people a tour. we are night vision. just to creep you out a little

place is haunted? >> you ?gknow, various staff people as well as some of our volunteers who actually were here working in the building until it was decommissioned in 1974, have talked about different happens, if you will. i've had past staff people who have experienced cold spots. we found things that were misplaced. myself, i was -- >> yes, i want to hear. what >> one year i was setting up in the basement. i was here by myself and i was setting up a haunted ghost, you know, cemetery kind of scenario and i had these big -- they were tombstones made out of styrofoam. i walked away and i heard a slap. and it had gone from being, you know, just leaning against the table to on its face. so i said okay, tom, he's one

5:52 this morning. a new ranking from gadget the best resort here in colorado. the ranking takes a look at a lot of different factors. how much the train has variety. is it easy to get there? well, groomed, how is the food? how much do you pay when you get there? rounding out the top five in order then are aspen, vail, steam boat, then beaver creek, but telluride is a spectacular place, marty. >> it sure is. but easy to get there is one of

>> it's one factor. not easy to get to. >> no, it's not easy to get to. it's a great place. high clouds over us overnight kept us warm. thatwell defined band of clouds is moving off to the east, that is some rain and snow you're seeing in utah this morning. that is going to grind its way into north western colorado. the high terrain to the withest and south of steam boat will get some of the best showers. something going on the with all the strong down sloping winds we have in the foothills and mountains t will gobble up any moisture that manages to get to this side. that leaves us with a windy day in the foothills with 50s and 60s. mid 70s here, close to our record high of 79 degrees. as i spoke earlier, there are the showers moving through the northwest corridor of colorado, some of the best showers to the west of the steam boat strings

around steam boat. a quarter of an inch there. everybody looking at dry conditions. 70s and 80s in the east. 50s and 60s for the mountains and west. pushing up there close to record highs yet again, very windy in the foothills. especially this morning. tonight, we started cooling off a little bit. drop down into the 60s tomorrow. still a nice day. very, very light showers possible on wednesday. not going to make too much of a dent in the dry conditions we have around here. >> on spear this morning. a lot of folks having get caught in extensive slowdowns as you pass down the convention center. we're talking about that center lane roadwork as you head through speier, everyone is forced to split. around the center lanes, where those repairs are taking place. it's all because of a concrete steam vault repair that is going on under ground and according to crews we spoke to on friday, if this repair doesn't happen, we will see parts of the road collapse.
