or-treating this morning near the foothills. it is really windy. gusting between 35 and 65 miles per hour in the mountains and foothills. these winds will decrease slightly. we will get an occasional gust up to 20 miles per hour. now the upshot of the strong wind, of cowarm temperatures. even if it's not windy here, we benefit from that effect, moving us in the 50s and 60s here during the morning. unusually warm here. we're starting to and thunderstorms. just nipping the northwest corner of colorado. little system moving in out of utah. we'll start to move into north western colorado here during the morning. we'll get some rain and thundershowers and that part of the state only. generally from jackson county to the west. a few spots, especially in and around the trappers lake area, could see a quarter to half an inch of rain during the day today. throughout the afternoon and

at times, especially the farther west you live, if you're at the base of the foothills, you'll get good pops of wind every now and again and that will move us into the 70s during the day today. next three days, a little more typical of fall with 60s tomorrow, one or two light showers coming up wednesday, and a quick rebound on thursday. >> the drive on the north end is pretty quiet. it's a monday start here in commerce city and the views of expect through most of the 6:00 hour. that volume will build up south and eastbound. let's talk about downtown construction. there's a repair going on across northbound speier as well as stout near the convention center for a concrete steam vault. essentially crews have to construct a building underneath the ground to make these repairs happen. northbound speier commuters have been doubling their drive times. as for right now, two lanes are closed. one lane is closed on stout and

wednesday. live views outside across our c- dot cameras. 25 and c470, looking good. we'll be checking in with you throughout the morning. that construction is an area to avoid. >> all right, amelia, thank you. it's the final full week of what has already been an unpredictable and nasty presidential campaign. democrats are calling an announcement from fbi director, s computer of clinton aid, huma's estranged husband, anthony weiner. democrats are demanding that comey provide more details. and whether they contain classified information. senate minority leader, harry reid, suggests comey may have violated the hatch act, but revealing vague information days before an election. >> it's not just strange, it's

troubling. because, voters deserve to get full and complete facts. >> this is a shot in the arm for donald trump's campaign. this shifted the momentum in his favor. this shows the character of the democratic nominee. >> this is the biggest political scandal since water gate. and it is everybody's deepest hope that justice, at least, will be >> former prosecutors and legal experts say this is unlikely to resolve in charges against clinton because the fbi already cleared her in an extensive investigation. >> one campaign leaves colorado, another arrives. donald trump spent the weekend here, now there's word that a member of the clinton camp is on the way to our state. 9news reporter is here with the details. both candidates trying to win over colorado voters. >> they are trying so hard. hill are i clinton and donald

electoral votes. four key battleground states, colorado was one of them. we'll get to the results in just a second. first, trump's efforts to win over colorado voters. he made two campaign stops here this weekend. sunday, he was in greeley. this after a son and running meat both made campaign stops in colorado. not to be out done, hillary clinton is sending a member of her team here. clinton's camp announced chelsea chin clinton will be the campaign has not announced details, but registration is open on clinton's website. now, back to the cbs battleground state poll. it shows hillary clinton ahead of donald trump, but not by much. of likely colorado voters, hullly clinton has 42% of the vote. donald trump is 3 points behind with 39% of the vote. that's well within the margin of error, which is plus or minus 4.1%. we should mention the dates of this poll are important. it started before the latest

come along with history, too. i want to bring in laura powers who has been out here all morning. she spent a lot of time here this weekend. let's talk about this morning. is there anything joining us? can you feel anything? >> oh yes, even on my way here, i could sense there are many spirits. a lot of them are expecting since they knew i was here the other night and knew this was happening. >> so who are these spirits? are they old firefighters that are lingering around or are they old workers that past? >> yeah, so the spirits that are here, most of them are associated with the building in one way or another. they worked here or family member. some cases there are spirits that will come in from the area, but the spirits that are here are pretty protective. they only like their own to be here. >> okay. let's talk ghosts, are they friendly ghosts or is this casper the friendly ghost or maybe not so nice? >> most of them are friendly, however, there is one in

we have been talking about, that is allowing us to be quite warm here at lower terrain. and the rain, thundershowers moving into western colorado will be a feature for the northwest quarter of the state. really along and north of i-70 up to steam boat, hayden, craig. for us today, some showers will try to come over the continental divide. a strong down slope wind that isn't going to get much traction at all.

50s, 60s, with strong winds in the foothills. 70s here at lower elevations. showers in the mountains. really liking a quarter to half an inch in some spots. especially in the flat tops and then up through the mount circle wilderness, we'll see fairly heavy showers for a brief time during the day today and a lot of wind to go along with it. that's really about the only spot, i think we'll see much happening today. 50s, 60s, for the mountains and 70s from buena vista. very warm over the southeast plains, especially from lineman to the south with 80 plus for your daytime highs. windy in the foothills today. 77 the forecast. very close to that record high of 79 degrees. tonight gets a little cooler. we'll have winds decreasing around here. tomorrow in the 60s. small chance for a tiny, tiny shower coming up on wednesday

and dry. >> thank you, marty. sky 9 is over another crash this morning involving a car that has rolled. this is the intersection of tower and pena boulevard. tower road is more affected then pena. not slowing down at all on your way out to the airport because the through lanes of traffic are not affected. obviously, with the flairs set out, the emergency crews on scene, traffic is backing up for about 5 minutes in either direction, no matter which way you are headed. we need to anticipate this affecting your drive out east. let's go out to our c-dot cameras, across our cam, and you can tell by the blur, there's the lights, their speeds are high. they are still in the 60s approaching that northbound approach leading up to areas like c-470. there's major roadwork going on. they are fixing a concrete steam vault that is under ground near the convention center. folks have been complaining about double drive times, an hour to get between cherry creek and the highlands.

the landfill is near alt, that's about 90 miles from the child's home in laramie. police arrested 23-year-old, logan roger, the boyfriend of the child's mother. rogers will be in court this week for manslaughter and wreckless child endangerment charges. investigators say they still have a lot of people to question and evidence to examine. denver police are also trying to find the driver who hit and killed someone on broadway. police say just after 1:00 in the morning sunday, a person was hit and killed at 13th and broadway. po pickup truck. they haven't released any other details. i have the right. i have every right to ride this. >> the man is sharing a video saying it shows a san francisco police officer kicking him and his service dog off of a cable car. that dog is a pit bull. right now, it's unclear if the dog was a service dog. dogs are allowed on cable cars,

quickly. out to our maps we go. a lot more going on. out further to the east, a full closure of northbound tower road. it shut down at 56 due to a crash that crews are responding to now. so far, pena boulevard is not going to be affected. if you are headed out to the airport, it's not going to cause a big concern. eastbound 00 i-70, with backups leading to that highway drive. spear construction near a camera up of the area. center lanes are still blocked and all this work is to repair a concrete steam vault. according to officials, they essentially have to build a new building underneath the ground. otherwise, we could see a collapse of the road. and corey, all this work sticks around until at lase wednesday. >> good to know, thank you. the fbi has gotten a search warrant to review newly discovered e-mails tied to hillary clinton's e-mail investigation. that information comes from a source close to the

associated press. the e-mails were discovered on a device seized during an unrelated investigation into former new york congressman, anthony weiner. now, democrats are demanding to know more about the fbi's announcement. i'm here. he had strong words. >> he accuses him of breaking the law. that goes against james comey. he said so directly to director of violating the hatch act meant to stop federal officials from taking action that would influence an election. comey sent an e-mail saying the fbi will examine newly discovered e-mails. but democrats say his statement is too vague. they are demanding to know more, like whether the e-mails are new. hillary clinton did not address the issue in our campaign stops on sunday, but donald trump did. he was in greeley rallying his

information saying it's bigger than water gate. clinton's campaign manager is demanding the fb, i release all of the e-mails. >> and leaked in a way that mischaracterized the small amount of information that was in the letter and all we're asking for now is let's just get all of the information out there on the table. there's hypotheticals flying all over the place. >> i have a feeling they just found a lot of them. don't they just found a lot of them. >> now some voters are really paying close attention to all of this as they make their decisions. others made their decision. 21million americans have already voted. >> thanks a lot. eight days to go, this week chelsea clinton is going to visit colorado to campaign for her mother. she will visit phone banks and canvas in the aurora area tomorrow evening. she's going to similar events in boulder on wednesday morning. both events are open to the

locations have not been released yet. when we find out, we'll let you know. donald trump made two stops in colorado over the weekend. he held two rallies, one in golden. the other in greeley. recent polls show him behind in colorado, but he says he is confident he can win our state, especially after the announcement from the fbi about hillary clinton's e-mails. >> centurylink is buying communications company, level 3. centurylink said today they are buying level 3 and stock deal worth about $34 billion. the deal will increase centurylink's network by 200,000 miles of fiber and combine level 3's enterprise services to its internet and telephone service. all kids of all ages will head out in full costume tonight and we mean all ages. but how old is too old to trick- or-treat?

widow spider up here. of course, this is going to scare the kids like none other than. the dentist here on main street, i can't imagine they will have too many treats. but, we also have the candy shop next door. so, never fear. but yeah, the next door website has a map app, and you can go on there, assign a candy corn to your house. if you're giving out treats, haunted houses to your house, if you have a haunted house and that's how they are. you can check out your neighborhood. parker has a lot on there, but here on main street, it's obviously the main attraction. all the way down the street. you just have tons of spiders and spooky stuff, including a hay maze. so that will be plenty of fun for the kids. also, zillow has the denver area ranked 7th best in the nation. a few neighborhoods on there that you can check out. we're going to have that later on our website.

you have been ghost hunting for 15 years now. what have you been finding out here? >> well, welcome to the haunted firefighter museum. this is one of the most haunted places in colorado and it's amazing. we have been investigating since 2010. and we've had amazing experiences. we have heard voices, disembodied voices come out of thin air. we have seen objects move over on tables. you name it, this is a great haunted location. >> and just a few years o picked up some of these images. what are these images? >> we have specialized cameras. we have full spectrum cameras and they see further into the ultraviolet lights. back in 2010, we have a photograph we picked up in the basement. this one right here, of what appears to be a woman or figure down in the basement. and even more exciting, in 2012, during a live event for 9news, or halloween event, we

and maybe her arm sticking out. and as she was walking by, we got a capture. it's amazing. >> you know, we do these every year and we always ask you, do you believe? ghosts? some say yes, some say absolutely not. dr. max is joining us and he'll be with us on channel 20 in a half hour. real quick, you look at these images and some people may be freaked out. others say, that's just a drawing, you're kidding me. >>te your kidding me camp, to be honest. i'm also completely freaked out right here. this place is creepy. especially when it's dark. you know, there is no rhyme or reason when it comes to whether people believe in ghosts. there's been research on this. it runs the gamet, people who are religious, people who aren't religious, people that have lots of education. you know, everybody likes to

skeptical. >> more coming up in 20 minutes over on channel 20. but for now, marty, hopefully we are keeping you out. >> i have done a couple ghost tours. if you're in that environment, around here today, strong wind, north of the border, and in the foothills. both locations, we have high wind warning out in southern wyoming. we've had some wind gusts up to 80 miles per hour, up around arlington, and showers are beginning to move slowly into north western colorado with snow in the flat tops right now. by the end of the day, a few spots could see upwards of a quarter of an inch of moisture in the northwest quarter of the state. i think everybody is going to stay dry. these are the current wind gusts. it's very strong. looks like the wind is roaring down the valley there. now in larimer county. so, fort collins and loveland gets gusty winds as well. >> 61 miles per hour. >> all right, thanks, marty.

welcome back. the broncos are now tied for first place in the division. they won 27-19 at mile high. wasn't easy. the broncos fumbled the ball twice from deep in the red zone. simeon threw a pick six. they came through again. three interceptions. really scary moment on the field though when coach wade phillips had to be taken to the hospital after player ran into him on the sidelines. >> wade got hion the turnover and was down. so, you know, it's a big blow for our team. did a great job going in there, calling the game, defensively making big plays. >> everybody was hoping best for him. phillips is back home this morning. and should broncos insider, mike, says he should be back at work today. he hit his head on the way down, so a lot of people were worried. his wife was with him, so happy

around here, we're looking at clouds that moved through overnight last night into this morning. those are going to continue to head off to the east. and give us some nice, clear skies through the day today. some light showers in the northwest will stay in north western sections of colorado today. with the strong down slope winds, i don't think they will

upper 70s around here. with highs in the 60s the mountains and foothills. very gusty winds in those parts of the state. some light showers in the west around the area today. with pretty decent moisture. i say especially in the flat tops and the high terrain around the steam boat springs area. that's where we have the best chance to get a quarter of an inch of rain or so. 70s here in the east with 77 around record high is 79 for the day today. does cool off a little bit tonight into the upper 30s. we have a very, very small chance for some showers coming up wednesday and then as we look into the tail end of the week, we're back into the 70s, really very warm, mild weekend. and then we're looking at another shot at light showers again sunday during the afternoon. >> all right, thanks, marty,

dot view. not only do we have our eastbound accident leading up to brighten. another eastbound crash that heads over towards the exit ramp. several cars there, emergency crews and the backups go past the mouse trap. there's a southbound stall along i-25, and the views out to the east, busy, but it looks like we are clearing up as you come closer toward your exit. 56 is still the spot along tower road where we have a full closure. in fact, that northbound tower 56. so, busy start over all and no matter where you're headed across northbound spear, north or southbound, do keep in mind those two center lanes are closed. all the way through wednesday, they are working on a steam vault repair. because they found issues with it, so they are working on it through wednesday and people have been doubling their drive times with all that steam vault
