12:19 pm
that's some of the holdup on some of that. we'll see how our people holdup doing these searches. we'll take it day by day but we'll stay out here as long as needed. right now we have about 47 boots on the ground with different agencies. >> yesterday wind delayed the search yesterday is that right? >> well, i mean, wind was part of it but not the since friday, mr. rodgers the individual we have in custody delayed his initial appearance in court because he wanted to talk to our investigators, which he did. that interview led us to a search in far western laramie county and ultimately into albany county. we then had to -- we actually put mr. rodgers in our vehicle
12:20 pm
that turned out to be not true and then late friday -- or excuse me. later sunday night into monday morning we then got a tip that they had buried the baby underneath their trailer so obviously we had to run cadaver dogs through all of that. that tied upmost of our weekend and prevented us from making the necessary arrangements from coming down here with all our and get the people organized. >> is he still talking to you or are you guys done talking to him? >> he had his initial appearance yesterday afternoon in the circuit court and appointed a attorney. we haven't spoken to him sings. >> what makes you so sure he's telling the truth about this? >> from everyday we've gathered, we had cadaver dogs that hit on the car and on the
12:21 pm
so until we get something else other than that, we have to go with this. >> did you bring the cadaver dogs out here? >> no. >> just ineffective? >> well, a couple of reasons. a lot of methane gas where the garage is and that will kill the dogs and it's hunting season so who knows what's in that garage out there. could be a lot of dead animal carcasses or rotten meat from basically are not effective here. >> haven't heard much about her but do you guys expect to bring any charges against the mom? >> well, we expect to interview mom at some point. we have not done that. the initial night when this kicked off last wednesday, she was in no condition to be spoken to. since then she's been in the
12:22 pm
enforcement as spoken to her. >> how many days has he been missing? >> on wednesday of last week when we got the call, we figure he'd been gone up to four days prior to that so since then. >> any idea why he would fib on stuff like where he put the body? >> i don't know. you'd have to ask him. >> how frustrating has this been? >> well, these goose chases we've been sent on delayed a been done here doing something hopefully a little more effective. you know, we don't -- it's very consuming. i mean, there's a lot of work that has gone into this. you see just by the number of trucks that have passed through here we have to contend with. it's been taking a tole on everybody. >> how late to you plan to have all the agencies out here working? 24 hours? >> as long as we have daylight
12:23 pm
secured. we'll be out here every day. >> who told you it's a 1 percent chance? who comes up with that? >> there's other areas in, you know, just by the way the landfills are set up. you know, that it's basically a lucky chance that we're gonna be able to find something but we have to try. >> how many people, how many hours, how long are you prepare today be here? anything like that? >> we'll be here as long right now, on any given day, we'll have approximately 40 people involved in the search. right now we have this set for where we'll probably reevaluate this after a couple of weeks. >> what capacity do you have the -- i read you had the red cross and salvation army, what capacity are they doing? >> the team from the wyoming international guard, this is what they do.
12:24 pm
very experienced in this. all the other agencies are fulfilling helping with the search, gone through the training that's why we're leaning more towards the military people. the other agencies, the laramie county fire district one have instruments that help us test the air quality for the safety of our people, and then the red cross and salvation are there to provide assistance. you can't be out here all day without taking a break so we'll be shifting people in constantly and throughout that, make sure they have a place to lay down and obviously we need to feed and make sure they're hydrated well. their safety is first and foremost. >> you'll be inundated to the public trying to help. what do you want to say the to public wanting to help. >> obviously, if anybody has any information on the case to come forward. we have to evalwait -- >> just a heart breaking
