s of new affordable homes in denver. residents in more than 30 homes in castle rock were finally allowed back in their neighborhood after police found two explosive devices inside a neighbor's house which has been condemned. officers first discovered suspicious chemicals when they went to tell parents he had been arrested monday morning along with another student. victoria sanchez spoke with neighbors. >> i just paid this thi lives in this quiet dmashd for more than two decades and couldn't believe local police and federal investigators pulled two explosive devices out of his neighbor's house. >> that's not where i live. >> reporter: the explosives were detonated just yards from the home on the 400 block. investigators said it was too dangerous to move them any farther away.

distance. >> reporter: after more than 30 homes were evacuated, neighbors were let back in, except for the house where the chemicals were found remember it's taped off with signs state the building is an imminent threat to public health and safety. vats of hazardous material collect the inside are on the driveway and in trash bins. >> i was very surprised. this is a very nice neighborhood t nature here >> reporter: police officers went to the home for another reason torque tell the parent was a teenaged boy their son was arrested overnight monday. many residents in the close-knit neighborhood don't know the family who lives in the home with but say the teenaged son has an interest in science. >> he was just fascinated by chemistry, and we understand that it was encouraged in the family. everybody in the immediate neighborhood knew the boy was involved in that sort of thing.
