world series resumes. a little over two months ago a threatening letter turned up in mailboxes of several dog owners in part of aurora. last night a dog died unexpectedly. the owner thinks the dog was poisoned and the city is investigating. >> animal services is looking into the death of roxy blue. they haven't made any connection to the threatening letters back in august, but roxy blue's owner sees a ti how his dog died. >> i'm a senior pastor here at the rock church in denver. i've been in the ministry 17 years >> reporter: the kind of help here from pastor ryan fontenot. >> helping people heal and move on and put together pieces of their lives. >> reporter: the kind of help his family needs now. >> her beautiful blue eyes, that's kind of where she got her name.

month-old pitbull lab mix passed away overnight. >> the church bought her for me for my birthday. just yesterday she was a playful dog and today we took her to get cremated. >> reporter: one moment roxy was playing outside and next she was having uncontrollable seizures. >> it was very hard to watch. the vet told us that she thought it was marijuana digestion. >> reporter: but ryan says that definitely wasn't it. >> i went in the backyard with my flashlight and looked on the ground and there was hamburger meat with green rat poison pellets mixed in it all. >> reporter: the raw meat and green pellets were a nasty surprise and not the only one. >> talking to our neighbors we found out there was a letter that went out a few months ago concerning barking dogs and the different ways that you could poison them. >> reporter: ryan's family didn't receive the threatening letter. >> i really believe it's connected. >> reporter: sent in august to dog owners in aurora's summer valley ranch neighborhood.

the sheriff's department in the area said protesters were trying to build a bridge across the river to get onto private property owned by the pipeline developer. officers in riot gear used pepper spray and tear gas as protesters were waiting across the river. medics were called in to help some of the protesters suffering from hypothermia and the effects of the pepper spray. two things to tell you, one, world series play has not yet resumed and two, with less than a both campaigns are trying to pick off any undecided voters out there. mike pence was at the loveland fairgrounds and told supporters they have the power to make change. >> this is a choice whether we continue to go down the hill to a weaker america at home and abroad, to america stifled by more taxes, more regulations,

ban. >> reporter: in a world that loves selfies it came as no surprise people would want to pose with their ballots showing they voted, but then came this news release from the denver county district attorney saying ballot selfies are illegal in colorado. >> that touched off this lawsuit and those messages from the district attorney were forwarded to many different people such that they really did chill people's speech. >> reporter: adam frank is representing three people who say the law is a violation of >> the district attorneys and the attorney general on the other side are contending this law is necessary to prevent voter coercion. the only problem is there is no evidence of voter coercion or vote buying in colorado in any form of recent history. >> reporter: lawyers for the state wouldn't comment today on camera but argued the law is constitutional to which the federal judge replied then you have a problem. the 125-year-old law says you can't show your completed ballot to someone else. the state believes that means
