getting ready for a rally later this morning. colorado youth outdoors is hosting the event which starts at 10- 30 in fort collins come just one day after republican vice presidential candidate mike pence rallied supporters in loveland. he told supporters america can not continue on its current path-- telling voters they have the power to make the change. pence will be in iowa rallying again today. former trump rival texas senator ted cruz will join him there. the clinton campaign will be sending former president bill clinton to colorado tomorrow for 3 events. he'll be in pueblo, denver and fort collins. denver's event will take place at the exdo event center.

information on our website-- 9news dot com. chelsea clinton spent the morning in boulder campaigning for her mom. she launched phone banks and canvasses in the area to urge people to vote or get registered if they aren't already. it may not seem like the biggest court case pending - but a lawsuit over this election and selfies continues this morning in federal court in denver. the case wound up ther sued over the right to pose with their completed ballots and post them online. right now-- there's a ban on posting selfies with completed ballots. the people who filed the suit say the law is a violation of the first amendment.. lawyers for the state haven't commented on camera-- but they're arguing the law is constitutional.

the denver community will say final goodbyes this morning to "big al" richardson. richardson founded the juneteenth celebration here in denver. the holiday marks the official end of slavery in the united states. richardson helped establish the 5 points business association-- serving as president 5 times over the course of his life. a procession for richardson will start at 10 am at the blair caldwell african american research library. the funeral starts at 11 am at odom memorial church of god in christ . a denver man convicted of advertising he'd sell guns to felons--

it-- is expected back in court today for sentencing. kenneth francis was found guilty back in july. 9news reported how he went on his youtube videos offering to buy anyone guns...even convicted felons for a small fee. atf agents nabbed him by setting up an undercover buy with a confidential informant who had a felony conviction. bought an ar-15 style rifle and two handguns at gun shops for the informant. he was convicted on 3 charges and could face up to 10 years in prison. rtd will have three more months to get the a line train to the plane up to standards. r-t-d has announced a deal with federal regulators. the agency has been working to fix problems with crossing gates since the a line launched in april. right now gate guards have to stand at all of the gates, to stop traffic in case they malfunction. the feds gave r-t-d until early next year to fix it. the launch of the new g line to wheat ridge is on hold

b lines are solved. investigators looking into a dangerous chemical spill on peterson airforce base are now saying it may not have be as bad as they first believed. 20 thousand gallons of toxic wastewater disappeared from an open pit at peterson air force base in colorado springs. those particular firefighting chemicals have been linked to cancer and other illnesses. at first- investigators thought it leaked into nearby wastewater into the drinking water. now- they think evaporation in hot weather dried out all the liquid. it was a game for the history books with the cubs winning the world series for the first time in 108 years. and chicago's win was not easy. the cubs were in control up by 3 in

after his owner says he thinks she was poisoned. ryan fon-ten-tot works as a pastor in aurora. he says his congregation got him the dog and he named her roxy blue. he thinks roxy was poisoned after she started have uncontrollable seizures then died. the vet thought it was marijuana digestion. he says that is not possible-- and claims he found raw hamburger meat with green rat poison hidden inside of it in his back yard after the dog died. he didn't e thinks it is connected. a spokeswoman for the city of aurora says animal services doesn't have any complaints on file about those letters. they're asking if you received one of those letters - you can call animal services at 303.326.8290. a woman on the western slope is waiting for more

it happened at a park 9in clifton, near grand junction. janie wilkey was walking through a park, handing out church fliers when she stepped on the needle-- it went through her shoe and into her foot. she thought it was a rock at first but panicked when she took of her sock and spotted blood. wilkey had her first round of blood tests earlier this week but will have to retested several more times of the next year for diseases like hiv and hepatitis. back mosul continues this morning-- but isis' leader claims the terrorist organization will come out on top. the latest still to come. then-- the denver film festival is returning for its 39th year. which theatres you'll want to check out to catch this year's featured films just ahead-- but first let's get a look at what you can expect as you head out. marty's

boulder county says they still haven't been able to find the owner of the mystery alpaca found on indian lookout road near lyons. ed arling says his dog was barking and when he went to check on it-- he noticed the alpaca wandering along the road nearby. that was tuesday-- since then she's gotten a new nick name-- lc for the lyons crest she was found on. the county says l-c was probably spooked by predators and ran off from her herd. they have checked her micro chip-- but that led to a disconnected phone number and empty address in greeley. if they can't figure out who she
