end there. they continued marching with their signs until late into the night. 9news tarhonda thomas is looking into the demonstrations for us. tarhonda, protests against trump are happening across the country... yes. "this" is a demonstration that happenved-- overnight-- in portland. "that" one turned into what police called a "riot." but-- across the country... including here in denver... the protests have largely remained peaceful... as people express their discontent. in denver-- the crowd got very large-- as it marched downtown. blocks-- chanting slogans against trump. they fear that a trump presidency will bring about more racism and bigotry. this is the second night in a row that we've seen such protests in denver. the organizer of last night's protest says-- it came together as she was expressing her feelings on social media. while supporters of trump-- at the univeristy of denver's "college republicans" say-- the protests are unwarranted.... ....those who were out, last night, say-- their concerns are very

trump supporters say-- the election was fair... and protestors are being irresponsible. nevertheless-- we could see "more" demonstratiosn just like "this one." gary. donald trump has a transition. but that's not all -- he's supposed to go on trial for fraud involving trump university in about two weeks. but with so much on his plate -- he's hoping to push it back... 9news reporter vida urbonas is following the lawsuit for us. vida, there is a deadline to move the trial... president-elect donald trump's attorney says he will fill file a continuance for the tial over the next few days. the federal trial is scheduled for november 28th .. and they want to delay the federal fraud trial until

january. mr. trumps attorney spoke with a judge thursday .. this happened the same day president elect trump met with president obama .. he says they want to get the trial delayed for few months so president elect trump can work on developing a transition team and focus on the innauguration. daniel petrocelli also questioned whether trump actually would be available to testify in court as a sitting president. he said never has there been a case in the history of the united states in which a president the judge told trumps lawers he understood and said it would be wise for the two sides to settle the case. trump's attorneys also agreed to enter settlement talks. this could lead to a quick end to the 6 and a half year old case.. however .. mr. trump's lawyer says he doesn't know if trump will be willing to settle after fighting it this far. the class action lawsuit was filed in 2010 .. on behalf of former trump university customers. they allege alleged that the

estate courses didn't deliver what it promised. they claim they were ripped off and lost tens of thousands of dollars after being misled. petrocelli said trump wants to be vindicated in this case and that it would be to his disadvantage if he could not attend the trial in person. one man who was sentenced to life in prison when he was 17 -- is now free for time served. but that's after he already missed about 20 years of his life. the denver post says giselle gutiz- degree murder in 1998. he spent 20 years in jail for the crime -- but a judge says his defense team back then was inadequate. now he's plead guilty to lesser counts and was resentenced to time served -- 19 years and 19 days. although the drunk driver who killed a state trooper last year is spending eight years in prison -- the trooper's husband is arguing that's not enough.

killed trooper jaimie jursevics while she was directing traffic on interstate 25 near castle rock. henderson pleaded guilty to the crime in june. but now jursevics husband is suing both henderson, and the bar he was drinking at before the crash -- brooklyn's at mile high. the lawsuit says henderson broke a number of laws that night -- and the bar served a visibly drunk man. which is against the law. one of the people who police detained for a shooting in downtown denver -- is now facing charges. officers say steven y street near the 16th street mall wednesday. then the 20-year- old and his girlfriend jumped on an r-t-d bus to get away. police did catch up though. one of the victims died -- the other will be okay. wiley is now charged with murder and assault. a horrific crime could soon see some justice. larimer county deputies found a woman with severe burns inside a home on south county road 31 in berthoud. and now they've arrested a man who they say set her on
