they say they're conducting a thorough investigation. james said he also heard from a regional manager this morning who did apologize. the man accused of hitting and killing a colorado state trooper is charged with careless driving resulting in death and failure to yield to the right of way. noeruiz has no criminal and bonded this morning. the trooper was investigating another earlier crash when he was hit on the road. the douglas county sheriff's office is reminding everyone to move over for law enforcement. >> there's a law in place for emergency vehicles. there's a reason why this is there. and this is why. we don't want this to happen. unfortunately, we've seen it happen to two troopers over the

ones in michigan and pennsylvania. they know the odds of reversing a recount are slim. trump won michigan by less than 12,000 votes, wisconsin by less than 30,000, and pennsylvania by less than 70,000. clinton would have to win recounts in all three states to receive enough electoral votes to win. president-elect efforts today and called on voters to accept the results and look to the future. sunny skies and fairly warm temperatures on the front range. changes are coming. a storm arrives in colorado tomorrow, bringing heavy mountain snow and cooler company. we want to bring in meteorologist becky ditchfield from the weather center. are we going to see snow in the metro area is what folks are wondering? >> it's possible. it's not going to be a lot. if you want a lot of snow

mountains for that forecast. but some is possible around the denver metro area. it may happen about 9:00 in the morning or closer to the noon hour. right now we still don't have much going on across the city. just partly cloudy skies and fairly calm conditions. those temperatures today are going to, or excuse me, those temperatures today were mild and we're expecting them to drop as we head into tonight into the 30s. here's a look at what those 52 boulder. 53 in denver. avalon park 46. in the high country, silver thorn you're at 32. speaking of the mountains, check out the extensive winter weather advisories and warnings. nothing happening across the state yet. west just off and moving onto front going quickly approach the state and we will see snow arrive in our northern and central mountains by early tomorrow morning.

tomorrow at 5:00 a.m. 7:30rain/snow mix in fort collins, greeley. still no snow in denver. chance around lunchtime and it gets windy and chilly for the remainder of the day. for the remainder of tonight, those temperatures are going to be falling. 42 degrees at 7:00. 40 at 8:00. and at 9:00 we'll drop to about 39. this system brings as i mentioned a lot of snow to our mountains. we'll about that forecast coming up, and we'll detail the outlook the rest of the weekend as well. thank you. we are less than a half hour from kickoff of one of the biggest cu football games in years. they are talking on utah and if they win they are moving on to the pac 12 championship. our rod mackey is live at the game. i can't imagine the excitement out there now. >> reporter: boulder is

the scenario for cu simple, beat utah here tonight and they are in the pac 12 championship game next week against washington in california. beating the utes on this field will be easier said than done. this season has been all about firsts. coach mack came into the season with three wins, or nine total wins as head coach in boulder. he has nine wins already this number 10 tonight would be the big difference. punch their ticket for that championship game. i guess it's safe to say that things in boulder have definitely changed. >> football is important at the university of colorado. just hadn't been very good in a while. now that hopefully we can inkee doing what we're enjoying doing and keep building it and develop fans that are in elementary school that the kids in elementary school, haven't

night's parade here at 9news. sailing at 9,000 feet usually a short summer season. but not the case this year. november is almost over and there's one last boat on the dillon reservoir. the owner says he's still taking his boat out for mountain sailing after thanksgiving. the mornings are cold and ice is forming near the shore, but he says by the afternoon the temperatures have gotten warm enough to be the last boat on the water. i love that. we have the people holding on to every last bit, dare i say summer, with 60s at this point. people getting their christmas trees, it's kind of a mix of all these seasons. big changes are coming our way. mountains will see a lot of snow coming up over the next 24 to 48 hours. here in town we're not expecting a lot of snow, but it will get chillier. now this is the divide. still dry there.

some of that could cross i-25. it won't be a lot. this system quickly moves off to the northeast and while it does so, we're going to have partly cloudy skies around here. windy conditions. not a lot of snow. most of that snow continues for our northern, central and southern mountains through tuesday. what does this mean for the broncos' game? well, they face the chiefs this sunday at 6:30 p.m. temperatures are going to be dropng a little bit gusty. but it is expected to be dry. those showers mostly moving east of i-25 during tomorrow morning and early tomorrow afternoon. 11:30tonight we'll start to see snow in the san juans. it will work its way north, north of i-70 by 6:30 early tomorrow morning. then at about 7:30 crosses i-25 with an isolated rain or snow shower in places like fort collins, greeley and loveland. by about lunchtime that will be

around here. then we'll be under partly cloudy skies, windy conditions the remainder of the day, while the snow continues to fall in our mountains. winter weather advisories that start early tomorrow and go through 5:00 a.m. tuesday. 6to 12 inches expected along the continental divide. eastern side of the san juans we'll se4 to 10 inches of snow. 2to 4 inches expected near the four corners and up again around the upper rive butte, winter storm warnings also through tuesday morning. ten to 20 inches will fall near steamboat springs and around rabbit ears pass. southwest san juans expecting 10 to 20 inches there. and 8 to 16 falling in places like vail, snow mass and aspen. not that much snow. isolated shower here. this is mainly a high country event. 31 our low tonight. 28 greeley.

as planned on december 5th. up to 50 million americans have been told they're allergic to penicillin. now a surprise finding shows most of those people aren't actually allergic at all to that. dr.john tores has the details. >> reporter: spencer jones was 15 months old when he first got the label, allergic to pencillen. >> if it stayed in his chart, he would be given antibiotics not as effective, more toxic and more extensive. >> reporter: today he's at the algist to see if he's truly allergic. it's something more doctors are calling for, as new research finds 90% of people labeled with the allergies have grown out of it or misdiagnosed in the first place. >> they get a rash that is commonly not related to the antibiotic and they get label z adler jibbing. >> reporter: dr. phillips says

thanksgiving weekend, the studios are hoping to keep up strong momentum from "fantastic beasts and where to find them" and disney's "dr. strange" before that. moana is likely to dominate. the studio has a track record of ding this holiday. frozen three years ago was the biggest thanksgiving opening of all time. disney is on track to continue its number one market share through the end of the year, with star one, opening next month. >> disney has had an incredible year. caaiffamersummer, early part of may. finding dory. and certainly after that they had a really good fall period as well. >> reporter: then there's allied, looking to boast its parent company viacom's value ahead of a potential remerger with cbs. the film is hoping to draw

match last year's thanksgiving box office results. it's been forever since i have been seen a movie and all this talk about movies makes me want to eat popcorn. >> it's also close to dinner time? if you're up in the high country, maybe chili would be a good option, because we have this huge snowstorm heading our way. we talked about the wi in effect for the mountains. i wanted to detail more closely what we're expecting north of i- 70 and south of the interstate. not much happening tonight. sunday evening at 9:30 and by that point we could have up to 6 inches on the ground near vail. up to about 5, 4 or 5 around breckenridge and winter park. further to the south we're going to see even more. those totals could get up

closer to 10 inches along places like the continental divide. that's by early tuesday morning. south of i-70 through the san juans we're expecting even more snow. in fact, that should be in the 10 to 20-inch rain, and by 9:30 sunday night we're expecting up to 15 inches of snow near places like silver ton and telluride. you get pat that, into tuesday morning and those locations will be the bullseye for the most sn close to 20 inches of snow. maybe a little bit more. we'll see slightly less amounts near crested butte and down towards the four corners and that's where we get the 2 to 4- inch snow. but this is big snow for the mountains. they've been waiting for it for

. good evening, i'm belinda leon, here at the history colorado center. stories of latinos that have contributed to the state come from all across colorado. tonight, we will share those stories with you. starting off in the san luis valley, then coming through the metr ending in las an miscounty. you'll get to meet a coach who has impacted the lives of great athletes, a local businessman who became the restaurant king of denver international airport. a couple whose philanthropy touched thousands of children's lives and a man with the vision and for the county, you'll see his vision today, and you'll ar about a home-grown educator starting from a teacher all the

and finally, we'll bring you the untold story of an entertaining and businessman turned public servant from colorado. thank you so much for being with us tonight. these stories were part of the inaugural latino event held this year by the latino leadership institute at the university of denver. let's get started with the first story about a long distance running coach whose career has spanned seven decades. growing up in a create an easy childhood for coach joe vehil. he knew he would not let this environment stop him from pursuing excellence. >> i learned early on that i wanted to be everybody, so i studied. i was a boy scout and made eagle scout rank and learned how to pursue goals.
