the way to the scene and will bring you live updates throughout this newscast. just this morning a woman was shot and killed after aiming a shotgun at police. police responded to a call this morning just before 6 a-m of a suicidal woman. a crisis negotiation team went to the scene to try to convince the woman to comply with police. the woman refused and later came out of the house with a shotgun. she attempted to shoot herself -- by putting the gun below her chin -- but she could not pull the trigger. she then turned the gun towards the officers. police say the 19- year old shot a woman last night in a convenience store parking lot near craig and m- l-k. she was taken to u-m-c where she later died. police believe smith and the victim knew one another. an elderly man is dead-- after being hit by a car this afternoon. it happened around one o'clock.... near whitney ranch and sunset road. police say the man was crossing the street when he was hit... the man was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the crash. the driver stayed on the scene.... police do not believe speed or alcohol were factors. the man accused of kidnapping an arizona teen and holding her captive in his home... went before a judge today. "i'm looking at a total of 60 counts. all in one way or another being sexually related to a minor. based on that, i'm going to set a total bail at 1.5 million dollars. "we call this our season. of our season, this is a big day for us. we're excited to help customers." busy indeed. six million packages sent across the country. tuesday, december 15 is the deadline for standard postage. so many waited in line to ship off gifts to their loved ones... to make it there in time for christmas.
