the face and then the suspects took off. all three men were seen leaving the hotel in what looks like a silver, 2-door infinity, possible g series with black rims, tinted windows and a sunroof. the victim was taken to sunrise hospital where he is in critical condition. anyone with information about these men should call the police or crime stoppers at 702-385-55-55. tonight we're getting a look at the man accused of shooting a police officer... this is 38- year-old teag fox, who was on the run for many hours yesterday before being arrested. besides a few traffic related cases and a civil case involving a student loan trust... it does not appear fox has a criminal history in las vegas. fox5's miguel martinez-valle is live where the shooting took place with more details about the suspect's arrest. metro tells us the gunfire exchange that ended with one officer in the hospital and fox on the run

this complex on south las vegas boulevard... and while the shooting led to the area around the incident being shut down... fox was finally located and arrested by metro 5 miles away leaving a gated community in southern highlands... 38-year-old teag fox was on the run from metro police for about 5 hours before being arrested. jeff clark, sergeant lvmpd " through an intensive investigation and subsequent man- hunt our detectives were able to locate the suspect in the south west part of our valley and he was taken into custody without incident" it was before noon when metro officers responded to a domestic disturbance call in the area. police tell us fox was in no way related to their investigation at the time of the shooting... " there was an exchange between the officer and the suspect, they ultimately exchanged gunfire, and our officer was hit by the suspects gunfire" the officer, who's name will be released by officials at a later time, was shot wice, once in his vest and again in the arm. joe ellis, witness " he was injured, it looked like all of

trying to tend to him, trying to make sure he was ok, they had everything blocked off." the suspect fled the scene after the shooting, he was arrested just before 5 pm in a gated community in southern highlands... a police source told fox5 that fox made a call to be picked up from a gas station nearby, he was then taken to the community in the southern highland area... the same source tells us fox's weapon was recovered from a house in that community, neighbors of the area who asked not to appear on camera told fox5 they saw dozens of police cars all around their neighborhood, they also saw officers leaving a nearby house carrying things in their arms... fox is currently at the clark county detention center, he is being charged with attempt murder of a police officer with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm into an occupied structure among other charges... police are still investigating the motive fox originally agreed to speak with us about the shooting, but later declined until his lawyer was present... live from las vegas boulevard miguel martinez-valle, fox5 news, local

around 4-30 at a single-story house near charleston and the 95. clark county firefighters responded after reports of an explosion at the house. they were able to put out the flames in less than fifteen minutes. one person inside the home was taken to u-m-c with burns. a cat was found dead inside the home. firefighters stayed on scene while southwest gas worked to secure a meter that wasn't able to turn off. the cause of the fire has not been released. the latest now from carson city where lawmakers are in special session to review incentives for electric carmaker faraday future. lawmakers are working into the night.. trying to figure out how to make sure at least half of the employees working at faraday future's proposed factory are from nevada. lawmakers are trying to get the special session wrapped up soon ... but it could take a few more days. a local business owner takes matters into their own hands.. and edits a video of three people

sad news today from siegfried and roy ... two of their young tiger cubs have died. according to the caretakers at the mirage where the cubs were growing up .. liberty and justice .. seen here in pictures taken not too long ago .. passed away from an infection which led to kidney failure. in a statement from siegfried and roy .. they write in part... "we are beyond grateful to the team of veterinary specialists from across the country and the expert staff at the secret garden that gave a tireless effort to treat liberty and justice and continue to ensure the health and safety of all of our animals." two other tiger cubs from the same litter are healthy and doing fine. southeast.. mohave county, deputies make a huge marijuana bust near kingman. take a look at this.. it is 75 pounds of marijuana .. packaged in one pound bags. the sheriff's department says it pulled over a car on interstate 40 for a traffic stop. when the deputy asked about drugs in the car .. the driver said yes.. he

to be 75 pounds.. and the two men in the car are now behind bars. under pressure from federal safety regulators - allegiant air is increasing training for pilots and dispatchers. the las vegas based company has been under scrutiny since july. that's when a plane operated by two allegiant executives who are also pilots made an emergency landing at a closed airport in fargo, north dakota... after one of the pilots told controllers he didn't have enough fuel to reach another airport. the f-a-a says its investigation into the incident closed in october with a "letter of correction" - which is not as serious as an enforcement action- along with a follow-up letter this month. the students of "first good sheperd luteran school" are getting senior citizens in the holiday spirit. the kids went caroling and took fresh fruits and vegtables to the residents of the "desert plaza senior apartments." students have gone caroling in the apartments for three years. they bring fruits

president obama faced questions about the administration's anti-terror strategy in his last press conference of year friday in washington before traveling to california to meet with the families of the san bernardino attacks. steve nannes has the story from washington. president obama addressed reporters for what will likely be the last time in 2015.
