police say 49- year-old erik provencal was driving a pickup truck when he tried to turn left in front of the motorcyclist. degrella tried to stop before slamming into the truck's passenger side. he was killed at the scene. the driver of the pickup was not hurt. police say he failed a field sobriety test... and was arrested on a felony d-u-i count. a police officer shot and injured in the line of duty has been with the metro police department for eighteen years. police say officer gregory sedminik and another officer responded to a domestic disturbance call on thursday at emerald suites. that's near las vegas boulevard and pebble. police say officer sedminik was shot by a man not connected to the initial call. the officer returned fire but was hit in the upper body. he was taken to u-m-c... and expected to make a full recovery. the suspect is identified as 38- year-old teag fox. police say he was picked up by a friend who had no idea fox was the suspect in the officer-involved shooting. it took around six

information was downloaded "i'll be home for christmas"... in washington -- three kids had their christmas wish fulfilled -- their military mom home for the holidays! caiti currey shows us how the mom surprised two of the kids at their school. kindergartner julius galvin and his first grade sister bella sat at indian trail elementary's christmas concert friday, thinking their parents were missing out. little did they know their mom was right outside. "i'm here to surprise my kids," dixie galvin, who is home from basic training for christmas, said. "i'm feeling a lot of emotions i'm excited to see them." for two months the kids, along with their younger sister, have been away from both their parents. dad's stationed in germany, mom was at basic training in oklahoma. "i got to talk to them a couple times, two minute phone calls and i received a couple letters from them," galvin said. at a young age, these kids have already experienced the sacrifices of the military, but christmas without mom and dad wasn't going to be one of them.
