reports of a mysterious light in the sky above the valley. fox5's elizabeth watts joins us live ... with more on what we found on the unidentified flying object. a lot of people out tonight looking up and saw a strange object shooting across the sky. here's a look at what folks were seeing all over tonight just after six o'clock... experts believe it may have been a very bright meteor or possibly some space junk that reentered the atmosphere. the c-s-n planetarium director told us.. there is a tremendous amount of space junk and it does come in every so often... a bright streak of light that's not manmade is a meteor... if it makes it to the ground and someone finds it- that's a meteorite.. he tells us nasa doesn't really care about meteors becuase there are thousands everyday but when bright ones are spotted over urban areas people get really excited... as we saw on social media.. it's pretty common but it's not that common to see one this bright

area where there's a lot of people and apparently this was seen over a large area... a very bright meteorite fireball.. but it could have been a piece of space junk entering the atmosphere too. he says there are cases where meteorites have hit houses or people but only a few in the whole world.. it's not very likely. n-h-p says they were called to the mountain springs area to investigate reports of impact but didn't find anything. the astronomer says this is a good reason to go look out in the sky. you never know what might just happen when you're looking toward the stars. and there are opportunities to head to the csn observatory and take part in shows starting again in january. reporting live ew ffn llv. in early november- another object was spotted in the sky.. all over the southwest. that ended up being a test missile launch out of california. well, it was a clear sky this

current forecast still calls for clouds to keep coming and going while temps will stay above normal for a couple more days. but the next big system upstream is supposed to get here during the day on christmas eve. that should mean more wind and much cooler temps heading into the holiday and on into the weekend. we'll go ahead and mention a slight chance for a quick were filed today by the district attorneys office... holloway is the woman accused of intentionally running her car off the street and onto the sidewalk on las vegas boulevard twice, leaving 36 people injured and one woman dead... while three charges were filed today the district attorney thinks more will come in the weeks following the investigation, fox5s miguel martinez-valle has more on what the da's office is taking into account in their case... the district attorney is calling what holloway did inexcusable, and he says his office is looking at the whole chaotic scene of her plowing through people on the sidewalk of las vegas boulevard even after people tried to get her to stop when they charge her for her crimes... but people who know holloway say theyre still in shock and disbelief that she would hit dozens

car on purpose... " my thoughts are that what she did is inexcusable. this was not a lady that ran a red light, this was not a lady that made a wrong turn. this was a lady that turned onto a sidewalk, ran over many people, continued to drive on a sidewalk, went back on to the street, and then back onto an intersection where there was a crowd of people." the district attorneys office filed three charges against the las vegas strip crash suspect... and these three charges alone carry heavy penalties... officials are saying the death penalty is a consideration for her murder charge, her 3-year-old daughter, who was in the car at the time of the crash, is currently with child protective services and a new nevada law makes leaving the scene of an accident punishable by up to 20 years in prison... " i think its a fair thing to say its a starting point because i do anticipate multiple charges." holloway didnt give a reason as to why she ended up on the sidewalk but did tell police she was having a stressfull day

in her car while in vegas for about a week... holloway's family has spoken out in her defense, saying they dont believe she rammed into people on purpose... " you know shes exhausted, she's not this villain that theyre creating her to be." in a press conference the president of the oregon based non-profit holloway was a part of spoke of his positive experience her... " lakeisha was a rolemodel, she was a rolemodel for many of the youth that we serve in our community." he said holloway gave no signs of trouble when she graduated the portland center, but he mentioned they lost contact graduated and moved away... members in particular who spent a lot of time with lakeisha and they were shocked to hear what had happened." authorities are saying that videos and witness testinomy show was not an accident... on a six hour manhunt after shooting a police officer was in court today. " he decides to make the brazen act of searching out this police officer and shooting him in the middle of the apartment complex where he's also putting everyone else in danger" officers arrested teag fox on thursday.... police say he shot officer gregory sedminik-- while sidminik was responding to a domestic disturbance at the emerald suites-- near las vegas boulevard and pebble fox's bail is set at one million dollars. fox is due back in court on january sixth for a preliminary hearing. a woman lost everything... thieves stole her uhaul in the middle of the night.. she was moving to las vegas from orange county for a fresh start... and now has nothing to her name. fox five's elizabeth watts shows us how she's hoping for a christmas miracle. nats: my couch woulda been here (or something) angelina anderson has a beautiful new apartment for her and her teenage son

it... nats ive been sleepin on this that's because thieves stole her uhaul in the night... the single mother moved here from orange county late sunday night... she locked the truck up tight outside her door- near the desert area... and woke up the next morning to see it vanished.. i came here to start over and be comfortable and i'm really starting over. everything inside was taken... all her clothing.. jewelry.. couches.. tvs... computers.. furniture... the little things- kitchen towels... silverware.. toiletries.. her christmas tree and some of the presents she had bought. all she has are the clothes on her back... but the worst part- the memories that can't be replaced. cut out the middle part angelina anderson/uhaul stolen i'm one of those moms that keeps everything. drawings. school pictures from every year. thats what hurts me the most you cant replace those. she was too shocked to tell anyone right away but ended up venting on facebook about it.. that's when her local friend found out

police are on a mission to educate the public.... today-- they were handing out pamphlets. police say pedestrians are at most risk is between 6am and midnight solar customers may soon see higher bills... in a vote today - the public utilities commission gave n-v energy the power to pay solar customers less for the energy they produce. fox 5's ophelia young spoke with a homeowner who's worried about what the future holds. "this cost a little over 27 thousand dollars." terry hickman is making payments on his 31 solar panels but he's been quite happy with his energy bills - "we pay a small fee to nv energy just under 15 a month to be connected" when he heard nv energy approached the public utilities commission with a new rate structure - he decided to speak up among dozens of other homeowners - solar industry workers - and

"the number one thing we have here besides dirt is the sunshine and the sunshine is a renewable energy." nv energy proposed increasing their flat service fee for solar customers, and paying customers for their unused energy 80 percent less than what they receive now. there was also talk of a controversial demand charge - which the puc ended up dropping. but the other two first changes - "all those in favor say i i motion carries" the commission said in a press release - they agreed with nv energy who argues non-solar customers - the majority - are paying more to make up for what solar customers are not paying. but as terry calculates - the new rate structure - punishes those turning to renewable energy. "youre goign to be paying at least 127 more. right." with the monthly payments he's making on the panels he estimates -

a pair of headliiners are taking time away from their theater to help save lives. penn and teller are heading up the 13 bloody days of christmas. they've teamed up with united blood services.... looking for people to donate blood. it is the 15th year for the event.... each blood donation can save up to three lives... the duo-- aren't letting donors walk away empty- handed. feelings about the crash that left atleast 35 people injured and one woman dead on the las vegas strip... he called lakeisha holloways actions when she plowed through people seemingly on purpose inexcusable and horrendous, he also mentioned the only possible explanation she gave police was that she was going through a stressfull time... with what they do know from the investigation the attorneys office has filed three charges against holloway... the first is murder with a deadly weapon, this for causing the death of 34 year old three jessica valenzuelathis charge... she was also charged with child abuse and neglect, her 3- year-old daughter was in the car at crash,she is now with child protective services her third charge is leaving the scene of an accident, and a new nevada law passed just months ago makes this punishable by up to 20 years in prison... " i mean as prosecutors we look at the entire picture of events, you dont look at one single fact or one singlet that she kept driving while people were trying to get her to stop, she addmited that a body bounced off her windshield." the district attorney says he's
