attempted to break into when they were shot... police have been questioning the homeowner about what happened in his home earlier today theyre saying because this homicide involved teens theyre going to take their time... the homeowner told police he heard a crash coming through his window... he then grabbed his gun and went downstairs... he saw somebody standing there, and fired more than once... that person jumped out of the window... as the homeowner went to go back upstairs he described someone coming after him.. he opened fire ... this was the 17 year old that died... lt dan mcgrath, metro homicide " i'm not going to rule out criminal charges but obviously i have to say if youre in your home and somebody breaks in you have the right to defend your home and property and family." one 17 year old dead inside the home he attempted to rob, and another wounded in a neighbors yard... police found a third 13- year- old kid outside the home, they believe he was the lookout... and

" we have seen a number of younger people involved in gun violence and invovled in criminal acts, residential burglaries have been historically a problem in the north west area..." police aren't ready to say whether the kids involved had a history of crime, they say they dont have that exact information and dont want to speculate especially since the people involved are kids with families... christopher adams, potential father " i think its my son" "why do you think its your son? he's 17, the friend that he was with lives together, he got shot and he died." a man who claims to be the father of one of the kids says he doesnt think his son has been in trouble with the law before... neighbors of the area said they have noticed an increase in robberies lately. but we don't know if today's robbery is in anyway involved. the 17 year old found wounded in tbe neighbors yard is in critical condition at umc,

police are also investigating a homicide at a condo and apartment complex at the corner of west apache. police say sometime before 5 this morning, a home heard screaming and down the front a man in the apartment shouted warnings. police say the man in the apartment but before police arrived the man door. person kept trying to get in so he shot again.. killing the man at at this time there's no word on who the victim is .. or why he was there. was involved in a crash this as you can see in this reportit video viewer.. on its roof. near smoke ranch. according to police, the driver of teh suv turned in front of the officer. both the officer the suv were taken to a non-life threateneing injuries. at this time police say the driver was

the woman accused of intentionally plowing a car with her child inside through crowds of pedestrians on a las vegas strip sidewalk has been arraigned on murder, hit-and- run and child abuse charges. lakeisha holloway walked in seperate from other people alreadin in court. she was shackled on her ankles and hands. she stood for the brief apperance where lawyers and the judge talked about the charges and set another court date. hollowow only spoke quietly when the judge asked he if she understood the charges.. she said she did. after her brief apperance she was walked out. steve wolfson clark county, nv district attorney "we have a number of people who were injured. we do believe that this defendant acted intentionally in her behavior. if you intentionally try and run somebody over, that certainly qualifies as an attempt murder charge and that's what we are strongly considering" joseph abood hollway's attorney "she's distraught. i mean this is tragic for everybody involved and as teh days go by and the gravity of what's

concerns this christmas. it's an indescribable feeling when you find out you may no longer be employed due to the decision of other people john is a supervisor at nevada solar company and says his job is now in jeopardy after the comission approved a plan that would increase flat service fees for solar customers while paying them 80 percent less for their unused energy. nats car solar companies like "solar city" responded on wednesday by ceasing solar sales in nevada. more than 2 thousands local workers now unsure if they'll have a job in the upcoming year. solar city says there are about 12 thousand existing solar customers in nevada - all of whom will be impacted by the decision. keely carlin of las vegas- just installed her panels this month - and says it's a shame she likely wont save any money. keely carlin: 18:07 im not pleased that i was trying to cut those costs and now they're either not going to be reduced or more depending how this plays out
