this morning. this time no one was injured .. but police tell us three people.. 2 men and a woman .. tried to rob the 'amigo's jewelry' at the corner of eastern and owens. an employee, however, hit an alarm.. locking the doors .. and the three people inside! one of the people pulled out a gun and shot out a front window and escaped in a car driven by yet another person. in all .. police were able to arrest three of the four people involved. no one was injured.. and no word on if anything was stolen. continnues for a suspect after another shooting - in jean. metro says it happened around nine last night... in the desert area across from a gas station. one man was shot - and taken to the hospital in critical condition. no suspects were taken into custody. if you have any of these shootings - call crimestoppers - at 702-385-55-55. it's a busy week for holiday travels - and the

"even if it's just your time, whatever it is that you have, it's just really important to give back to the community and there are so many people in need all year long. that's kind of our philosophy in doing this." the group also provided goodie bags to children attending the meal. inside were hygiene items, activity books,

one couple stopped by an today to give homes some special treats. debby johnson and jerome keever tradition last christmas eve with friends. the two along volunteers wore santa hats and handed out dog jerome is a volunteer at the animal foundation. he and debby felt they had everything they needed - and wanted to put the giving spirit in another direction. the state treasurer says he is baffled by a lawsuit filed by lieutenant governor mark hutchison and his law firm - seeking to preserve education savings accounts. mark hutchison talked to fox five about the action yesterday... saying he represents families seeking choice in school. "what education savings accounts do is allow parents to say we're going to choose the best school option for our children that will apply to them and help them in a unique way based on needs and circumstances." today - the state treasurer's office said - in part - "mr. hutchison's lawsuit amounts to little more than a side track to nowhere. hoping to bypass the current cases, the lieutenant governor could well jeopardize the attorney general's defense of nevada's e-s-a program, endangering very real benefits for the children and parents of nevada." the battle began when legal challenges were made to a law passed in the spring to create the education savings accounts. critics say they divert resources away from the

conviction that sent the actor to prison. governor jerry brown's office announced today that downey was among 91 people receiving pardons. downey was convicted of felony drug possession after he was arrested on a los angeles county highway - with heroin, cocaine and a gun in his vehicle. in 1999, he was sent to prison for nearly a year after he acknowledged violating his probation. downey's life and career have rebounded since then. he is now one of the highest paid stars in hollywood as "iron man". brown's website says that while a pardon doesn't erase records of a conviction - it restores voting rights and is a public proclamation that the person has demonstrated - quote - "exemplary behavior". at least six people are dead.... after a massive car pile-up in mexico. the wreck involved about 30 vehicles... in teoloyucan - just north of mexico city this morning. at least 25 others were injured.

it is christmas eve... and not everyone is done with their holiday shopping fox5 went to check out the galleria mall in henderson. you can see the shoppers ready to rush home with their treasures. looks like there's no shortage of procrastinators in the valley.
