seem very promising." " sanders also attended a private event at a the home of former democratic congressional candidate erin bilbray. he gave a short speech to about 100 guests at the women's leaders luncheon. after that he met with local veterans at another event. reporting live rachel moore fox five news local las vegas. the senator also spoke to a crowd of two thousand on sunday at a reno conference hall. senator bernie sanders stopped by fox5 today, and sat down with fox5 anchor john huck. they talked at length about solar in nevada, and why sanders believes he is a great candidate for our state. " senator, last week there was a decision here by the public utilities commission, giving nv energy the ability to charge solar customers more, while giving them less money for the power they returned, and a lot of people say that's going to kill the solar here in nevada, they feel

government, that tells them to go green, and yet the utility-- monopoly here is making economically : "that decision was made by the state officials. i am not an expert on what goes on here in nevada but it sounds to me, like a very bad and counter-productive decision. look, here's the reality, this is my view , i believe along with vertually all the scientists climate change is real, it is caused by human activity, it is already causing massive problems in our country, and around the world. we have a short window of opportunity, to get our act together and transfer our energy system away from fossil fuels into energy efficiency, sustainable energy, so we should be moving aggressively into solar, helping people get solar on their rooftops, not discouraging that. going into the sprint part of this race, you have iowa feb 1st, new hampshire feb 9th, nevada, 3 weeks after that, what is
11:04 pm
they should vote for you, life would be better under president sanders over president clinton. : the answer i think, this country today faces an enormous crisis, these are not normal times, we just talked briefly about climate change, which is one of the major crisis, we're also talking about incredibile, unequal, distribution of wealth and income. that we are now experiencing, top 1- tenth of 1 percent owns almost as much wealth as the bottom 90 percent, 58 percent of all new income is going to the top 1 percent. workers are working longer hours, they are getting less in real inflation to account for dollars. we have a corupt campaign system, sucks that people like sheldon adelson and other billionaires, are literaly able to buy elections. we need a president who is prepared to stand up to the establishment, to take on the big money interest. the billionaire class. not somebody who is part of the establisment. i think my life's work, my record in congress, what this campaign is about should tell the people of this country, i am that candidate. " can democrat socialists win nevada (sanders says "sure") i mean, this is a very vast state , a lot of libertarian views here, and i heard you on the sunday morning show appeal to trump votors. i mean, can your message sell? (sanders says

look, in my last election, re- election in vermont, i got 71 percent of the vote. that included about 25 percent of republicans. so if you get beyond the labels, and you talk about the issues we're fighting for, do people feel comfortable in this country? so few people have so much, and so many people are struggling. we feel comfortable that we have one of the highest child poverty rates in the industrialized world. are we comfortable that 36 percent of hispanic kids 17-20 are unemployed or under employed? are we comfortable that we are one of the only major countries without paid family and medical leave? those are the issues i am running on. they will resonate with people all over the country and here in nevada. nearly 30 bullets pierce through a condo... with two people inside the home. fox five's cyndi lundeberg is at the condo and spoke to the homeowners... who were told machine guns were used in the shooting. elizabeth... this is the home of ashley berlin and
