in the last couple of hours ive seen two different police cars stop by at this mosque to check in. members of the mosque also mentioned they have been in contact with the f-b-i. north las vegas police have made an arrest in a homicide that happened earlier this month. police have vernon newson junior in custody for killing a 28- year old woman on december 13th. the woman was found shot multiple times and left in a car on the on-ramp to i-15 near lamb. police found newson junior in southern california.. and are working to get him extradited back to nevada. police arrested a young man after they found his father dead in a henderson home. but the call to report the father missing came from the same house. fox 5's ophelia young is outside the henderson police department after asking how this happened. yesterday afternoon family members of the father called police to the home

nowhere to be found. police returned to the same home hours later to make an arrest. 21 year old eugene mbayi tshiyombo is accused of killing his father 68 year old mbayi ngenza. police found out a fight between them sunday night lead to the domestic homicide yesterday. tshiyombo was arrested at his home last night. this was after police were called back to the home - they found ngenza dead. "they had some additional information and when our investigators and officers searched the homes they found the victim who had suffered an apparent gunshot wound." so a bizarre series of events - there is a lot of information we are working to confirm - including who called in the missing person report - was in tshiyombo - where exactly in the home the body was found. thats all information police say they cant release right now because its all still under investigation.

henderson police department - they say this is the 4th homicide they've investigated this year - they have all be domestic. reporting live ophelia young. the suspect has been booked into henderson detention center. a 20-year-old man now faces 12 to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to driving under the influence of drugs in a crash that killed a 6- year-old girl and her grandmother at a las vegas bus stop. leonardo ruesga pleaded guilty today to two counts of dui causing death. the crash happened at the end of march. blood tests showed ruesga had marijuana and methamphetamine in his system. sentencing is set for the middle of february. the nevada department of transportation wants to light your drive better along one of our busiest stretches of interstate. over the next month, n-dot will be replacing all the lights along interstate 15 between downtown las vegas and jean. it is replacing the aging sodium bulbs with brighter l-e-d lamps. n-dot will do the
