vegas monorail is staying open 44 hours straight for new year's eve. it will be open from 7 a-m tomorrow until saturday at its usual 3 a-m. the monorail is the only form of motorized transportation that will be available on the strip. at about 5-45 p-m tomorrow the streets will be closed off to cars new year's. the monorail has five stations along the las vegas strip - from the m-g-m grand to the s-l-s. it also stops at the convention center and westgate.
