the pursuit ended in this neighborhood after officials say a man believed to be wanted for attempted murder fled from u.s. marshalls. that's when metro police were called to assist in apprehending the suspect. two officers then arrived to the area of guilded crown court where they encountered the man. they say the situation escalated when the man would not listen to their commands and approached them all while carrying a cell phone they thought was a gun. capt. matt mccarthy: because of the officers believed the suspect was wanted for attempted murder because this was a residential area and believed he was armed they shot and struck him several times. the suspect was pronounced dead on the scene. police have not yet released the man's identity or what brought him to las vegas - but police say they're still uncovering the details of this investigation. more details are expected in the coming days. no officers, agents or

injured in the shooting. polcie also tell us there is not threat to the public. a man came home early this morning, to find an intruder inside his house. this happened near craig and pecos. metro says the homeowner and intruder got into a fight. the homeowner was stabbed at least three times in the torso. he was taken to the hospital, and police say his injuries aren't life-threatening. metro says the intruder ran off, and has not been caught. police arrested the man they say robbed a doctor's office. his accomplice was shot and he left her behind. metro says mario chism and veronica clay robbed an office on december 16th, near charleston and rancho. they say chism pistol-whipped the doctor, who was treating a patient at the time. an employee escaped, got a gun from his car, and came back to the office. police he shot the two suspects, killing veronica clay. chism took off, and police say he was found with a gunshot wound to his foot.

including robbery and battery with the use of a deadly weapon. police released this video, showing the car they're looking for in another homicide investigation. on tuesday, a man's body was found in his car outside a 24 hour fitness on rainbow and alta. police say the two suspects who shot him were in this two door sedan, with a spoiler and non- tinted windows. if you have any information, call crimestoppers at 702-385-55-55. 19 adults and 17 children are out of their homes tonight, after a devastating apartment fire. and as you can imagine, people who live here are having a hard time finding a place to stay tonight. " this happened at two in the morning, on vegas valley near

firefighters at least three hours to put the fire out. people who live here are blaming squatters for starting the fire, but officials haven't named an official cause. no one was hurt. and a firefighter was hurt in another fire today. las vegas fire and rescue says a firefighter fell off a roof at a home near bonanza and maryland parkway. he was checked out by paramedics, and went back to work without a hospital visit. investigators say this fire started in the chimney area, and they believe squatters were staying in the home. it's a cold night - as las vegas celebrates new year's eve. fox five chief meteorologist ted pretty is inside the foundation room at mandalay bay. he joins us live with the holiday forecast.
