everything from gun control to foreign policy, the democratic frontrunner sat down exclusively with fox5 where we asked her to explain her stance on several issues. it is a dangerous time, we're seeing home grown isis supporters as well. how do we keep america safe? we have to be vigilant about who comes into our country. i support tough vetting and screening for refugees, visa waiver program, bc we have to make sure ppl aren't coming here do us harm. it also means we need to be working with muslim americans so if they see something, hear something they pick up the phone and call law enforcement, the fbi. so when republican candidates single out or use inflammatory rhetoric about muslims, it's not

offensive, it's dangerous bc we need to be on the same side as everyone who wants to stop terrorirsts, and that includes muslims who are the primary victims of terrorism around the world. you think it's dangerous here at home to alienate? i do. las vegas and nv have a lot of immigrants. you have a lot of immigrants who practice islam. i've met them. doctors, business people, very impressive people. i've been listeing to them as republicans make these comments. they're worried. they're worrid abot their kids going to school, target of violence, people should feel safe in our country and be part of a united front to prevent terrorists from committing any more attacks in america. do you anticipate facing donald trump? it's up to the republicans to pick their nominee. it really hasn't affected me. i'm going forward, reaching out, talking about the

caucuses in february. fox fives rachel moore is live from the mgm grand where the event wrapped up. watching this dinner from the back of this ballroom was like watching a sports game. there were hillary clinton supporters cheering to left -- bernie sanders supporters chanting to the right and martin o'malley supporters sprinkled in the middle. each candidate spoke for close to a half hour -- reiterating the messages they've been touting since hoping on the campaign trail. senator sanders promising to raise the minimum wage. secretary clinton vowing to enforce equal pay ... and governor o'malley criticizing nevada's public utilities commission. " martin o'malley: "solar city has now closed up shop in nevada, saying the state was trying to sabotage solar energy. we can't afford to sabotage our children's future any longer." hilary clinton: "republicans say, 'well there she goes again, playing the gender card.' well if fighting for women

playing the gender card then deal me in." bernie sanders: it is not a radical ideal to say that somebody who works 40 hours a week should not live in poverty. we are going to raise the minimum wage to 15 bucks an hour. office to make sure democrats win, when it's apparent they're having trouble drumming up that interest on their own." armstrong says nevadans have shown more interest in republican debates and events. he says the republican party is more diverse than ever, something voters are looking for. the man accused of injuring a metro police officer in a shooting was in court today, and he told the judge his life was in danger. " i'd like to say i've had my life threatened in here by police officers " a preliminary hearing for teag fox was postponed. protective custody if he feels he is in means he would go into the disciplinary unit. attorney says fox guilty. fox's next court date is january 21st. sedminik is expected to make a full recovery after the december shooting. a suspect is behind bars, accused of beating a man to death. around ten last area near decatur

police say tracy morrison found the victim and a woman in a tent, and started beating the man. he took off before officers arrived, but they found him about five hours later. metro didn't say why the fight happened, and the coroner will release the victim's name. this is metro's second homicide investigation this year. tonight a veteran police officer with 15 years on the force is off the job... after getting busted for drinking and driving. the metro police department is giving us very few details about what led to the arrest of officer dave denton. fox 5's cyndi lundeberg joins us now live from newsroom to break this down for us. officer dave denton was off duty when he was arrested... he was driving an unmarked police car. fox 5 requested his arrest record... and the police report associated with a crash he may have been involved in... metro says it'll take a few days to get both. what we do know is officer denton was arrested... and booked for driving under the

officer dave denton was arrested tuesday morning... and booked for misdemeanor d-u-i. las vegas metro would not comment on if this was dentons first time driving under the influence. jerry donahue says denton could face stiffer penalties because he's an officer. police officers are held to a higher supposed to be enforcing the law not breaking it denton was arrested on tropicana and decatur tuesday morning.... metro report wouldn't be ready for a few days. in clark county there are almost two thousand dui arrests every month its kind of common it happens frequently las vegas metro police department has worked for the department since june 2001... they said they wouldnt talk on camera about the represented a police cops dont make this donahue says we automatically assume denton will be found guilty of d-u-i. the breath machine is not very accurate they have an arrest

have a convicton quota so if you admit to drinking youre probably going to jail even if its one beer at a ball game two hours ago we asked metro when officer dave denton might be in court... they said they were unsure. we also asked to see his personelle file... but metro denied our request. reporting live cyndi lundeberg fox 5 news local las vegas. metro says they will release officer dentons arrest record... and the details of what led to his arrest in the coming days. . he is on paid administrative leave pending an investigation. metro is going to start responding to non-injury crashes again... but they ask you to examine the situation first, before calling 9- 1-1. sheriff joe lombardo announced the change today, saying they can respond to these crashes now that they have more funding. metro says if you are in a situation where your car can be moved and

call 3-1-1. if there's major damage, a driver is impaired, or if someone is hurt, then call 9-1-1. metro says these rules benefit drivers in small crashes, who just want to get on with their day. hundreds of solar employees at two different companies are losing their jobs, after the public utilities commision decided to raise customers' rates. solarcity say it had to eliminate more than 550 jobs in nevada. the company will try to relocate some of those people to other states. competitor "sun run" also laid off about 200 people today. governor brian sandoval says he has a team ready to host a job fair at solar city, and says he will respect the p-u-c's decision. homeowners have more options than ever, to keep their houses safe from burglars. we'll look at the latest technology on display now at c- e-s, that will soon be on the market. hoverboards are just one of the latest tech gadgets people are using to get around. some of the other sweet rides on display this week at c-e-s.
