donald trump's questions about the senator's eligibility are catching on. donald trump wants ted cruz to clear something up -- can a man born in canada be president of the united states? (donald trump, (r) presidential candidate) there's this doubt. people have doubt. again, this was not my suggestion. i didn't bring this up, a reporter asked me the question. but in a 2014 interview with a-b-c news, trump expressed more than just doubt. (donald trump, (r) presidential candidate) i would say that he can't be president. if you're not born in this country you can't be president. it's another problem that ted cruz has. now, the texas senator says there's no issue because his mother was a u.s. citizen. (sen. ted cruz, (r) presidential candidate) the laws of the u.s. are straightforward. congress defined citizen born abroad citizen. legal experts agree fellow politicians don't seem so sure.
