control supervisor ... it's a case that rocked boulder city... with people there still looking for answers. fox5s miguel martinez-valle joins us in the newsroom with more details. john, christine, those living in boulder city have been up in arms ever since they found out in december that former animal control supervisor mary jo frazier was allowed to retire even though a police investigation found she had been killing animals. former police chief bill conger was the one who decided to drop the case against frazier... and many in the community think his resignation is needed in order to have a fair investigation. bill conger, boulder cities chief of police administration has resigned, and while the city wont officialy say its because of the animal control investigaton... those who have been following the case closely say him leaving his post can only help... " the public wants transparency in the case and we want a full fair thorough investigation so if that was being hindered in any way by the police chief him stepping down helps that case." conger, who was

chief, came under fire recently after it was made public that he dropped a criminal case against mary jo frazier, the former animal control supervisor accused of needlessly killing animals " it was not bill conger's place to make the sole decision on wether to pursue the case or not, this is something that shouldve been turned over to the district attorney and have them resign." the investigation is now in the hands of the district attorney, but for many, conger dropping the case was a clear violation of the peoples trust... retired chief of police thomas finn even called it one of the most disturbing things he had ever seen... he said during his time in office he had... "... never ordered a case be closed out of fear of who might get muddied, and unlike william conger, he has never practiced policing by appeasment." boulder city says they never got a letter of resignation from conger, and theyre not giving any details about the investigation...but many who call boulder city home think they deserve to know whats going on... theyre

lot to the story theyre still not being told... " if we continue to delve into the details of this case, i have a gut feeling, not sustantiated, that other things will turn up as well." boulder city local lisa savy who i spoke to today actually started a petition about a month ago demanding the city place charges against frazier for animal cruelty and saying that it wasnt congers place to decide not to press charges... while the investigation is now in the district attorneys hands and conger has left his post, savy thinks theres still more the city has to do to start the healing and redeeming process... " " something having to do with our humane society, um maybe putting a little bit more money or publicity into promoting what they need as far as placing animals for adoption, i think this would be a great opportunity for them to make remedies that way." " other than giving back to animal groups savy also thinks the city
