some say it will hurt public schools because parents will use the money to send their kids to private school.. and a carson city judge... agreed. fox 5s cyndi lundeberg is at a private school that could be affected... she joins us now live with more on the judges decision... the judges ruling comes weeks before parents were going to start collecting money for their kids education under the school choice program...otherwi se known as s-b 302. public schools say they could lose up to 17 million dollars a but a private today says thats not the case... they say the program would actually benefit making classes teachers could more time on each student... it puts us in a position where as a parent i have to make sacrifices samantha linares

a year sending her two kids to private school. samantha linares - i dont get to drive fancy cars or have fancy vacations i use all the school choice program passed last year would've given family's up to five-thousand dollars per student for education costs. were almost forced into the private school system if we want our children to have the best educational experience that they can have that is what we were hoping for was a little break two lawsuits have been filed against the program. one suit in clarkecounty claims school choice is unconstitutional because it could use state money for religious purposes.... amy rose- legal director aclu nevada - because the voucher program uses public money and allows the money to go towards religious institution its a violation of the constitution the other lawsuit filed in carson city maintains it's illegal to take money from the public education system... it's estimated the clark county school district alone would be
