a girl turns down christmas gifts... for something more important instead. how she's helping feed to hungry animals... a month

girl has been asking for donations instead of presents for christmas. this year... she decided to use her money to buy pet food for animals in need. kent erdahl has the story from denver. love is never in short supply... when kyra dooley is stocking the shelves... (nats - "...it's exciting.") exciting becau even though it's mid-january... (nats - "here's this." "alright!") these are kyra's christmas gifts... and if you couldn't tell... she's pretty proud... it all started when she asked santa for donations to help pawsco, a denver non-profit that rescues and fosters dogs... (nats -"and cats too." ) ...and they also collect dog and cat food, which is what kyra set out to buy with those donations. dooley says: "i thought maybe 50 or 60 bags." but it turns out 12 hundred dollars will buy a whole lot more than that.
