help the now troubled solar industry survive in the valley. quite on the set! jason bourne is taking the spotlight again tonight on the las vegas strip. see what happened last night and what's planned for a major movie shoot the rest of the week. this is fox5 news at 6. local. las vegas good evening .. i'm christine maddela. and i'm john huck. it's been a cloudy, and then rainy day in the valley. this was the scene this afternoon at sunset and stephanie. you can see there was some standing water on teh roads... which as we all know makes them extremely slippery because it brings up all the oil that is rarely washed off. for the latest on this gloomy day outside.. let's go right over to chief meteorologist ted pretty.. shower chances decrease overnight and leave us by early wednesday. we'll have partly cloudy skies and 60 degrees for wednesday. we stay in the low 60s through saturday with a drop down

solar customers in the state. fox 5's ophelia young is live... at a solar energy installation business - to break down what the new ordinance means. large solar energy companies like solar city have packed up and moved out of nevada - but for smaller companies like this - the new ordinance offers some hope. here's how. "what are we trying to tell the world? that we dont care about solar? mayor pro tem steve ross called the puc's decision to raise rates for our rooftop solar customers - poor. "we were just beginning to make tremendous progress developing our clean energy economy when the public utilities commission stopped us dead in our tracks." literally - solar installers pulled off roofs - and asked to help pack up their centers. solar city says they laid off 5 hundred and 50 employees. smaller businesses like today's energy store dropped a couple workers too. "right now we have

we have no business." located in henderson, the small business was getting at least 5 phone calls for installation a day. "pahrump north las vegas las vegas henderson weve covered all of southern nevada" now the amount of calls they get... "one in the last month." the city of las vegas announced they're working on theyre working on a new ordinance to help future rooftop solar customers. marc explains its basically financing - the city plans to get a bond from which interested homeowners can borrow from. the loan will be - and they will pay property taxes - an extra 8 hundred dollars a year for marc says this doesnt necessarily save customers money - so long as the pucs vote stays in place... going to be affected by the new rate schedule that everybody else is the city by no means the main solution. and marc agrees. head above the water by now offering other services and products- like

audits and new solar products. but what mark believes the new ordinance can do - is support the backlash against the puc - and our community's aim for clean energy. "solar is going to take over at some point nv energy just hasnt realized that" the city today says they'll start with a committee of energy experts to write the new ordinance - there also encouraging other cities to follow suit. reporting live ophelia young fox 5 also reached out to solar city who says the decision still doesnt support their business model - and as long as the rates stay in place - they will stay out of nevada. emergency responders who aided dozens of people hurt on the strip when a woman in a car plowed through the crowd last month are recognized by clark county leaders. steve sisolak chairman, clark county commission "in midst or tragedy

truly were the heroes that provided a silver lining to this dark cloud." the county commission honored the clark county firefighters, las vegas police officers and umc trauma center doctors and nurses who attended to dozens of injured tourists. the crashed happened mid- december on las vegas boulevard in front of paris and planet hollywood. today, some of the first responders talked about that night. greg cassell / fire chief, clark county fire department "i am very very proud of the men and women of the clark county fire department, and the police department, metro pd, medic west, amr everybody came together in this situation and took care of business." joe geeb / fire captain, clark county fire department "you never are prepared to see what we saw, however we do train on a daily basis and that's really what we're there to do to make sure we're ready at a moment's notice." dr. paul chestovich / umc trauma surgeon "i'm especially proud of my team. of the residents, the fellows, the nursing staff. we're an institution that all we do is trauma, you know we do trauma 24 hours a day 7 days a week, christmas, new years, holidays, it doesn't matter, we're there."

accused in the crash, 24-year-old lakeisha nicole holloway, faces murder, child endangerment and felony hit-and-run charges. for the first time in 15 years.... clark county has signed a contract with a new emergency medical service company. henderson-based "community ambulance" will take over about 150 square miles of the county.... mostly in the southeast valley - and areas leading down to primm. it will serve as the primary private 9-1-1 e-m-s provider in its designated areas... which also include mccarran international airport. the company is already licensed to provide service in henderson - boulder city - and on federal lands. thats going to be the time where we and how good we're going to be for this community. so what it means to community ambulance is longevity. we'll be serve residents and visitors on clark county." community ambulance is only

medical service in history. construction is still underway in las vegas... but now it's ready to hire hundreds of employees! the swedish furnishing retailer announced it's recruiting process. more than 300 job for grabs... like sales... interior cashiers. the company is also in need of security. ikea is also known meatballs. it will need around 60 food service jobs for food market. joseph roth public affairs manager, ikea "having food service option is unique employment opportunity for retailer especially for home furnishing. ikea will have 450 seats in cafeteria style restaurant. at end of shopping experience we have swedish food market and bistro. positions to prep food as well as serving it." the company says it offers benefits like medical insurance... paid maternity and paternity leave... vacation... and tuition assistance.

shows in world kicks off right the "shooting hunting and outdoor trade show" -- also known as the "shot show" takes place at the las center this week. organizers say it's the largest of fourteen different conventions the city will host. the show is closed to the public... but attracts more than 65-thousand gun industry professionals. exhibitors show off the latest in firearms innovation. everett deger walther arms "shot show important for us we catch up with friends and do lot of business in las vegas. great opportunity to take some time to see what consumers looking for see what competitors up to and plan for next year ahead of us." this is the 15-th year "shot show" has been in las vegas. it runs through friday at the sands expo and convention center. you can now get a "virtual" tour of the mob museum - without leaving home. this is a robotic device called the "moe-bot".

a new poll shows trump 17-points ahead of his strongest rival -ted cruz. but, in iowa, with the caucuses just 13 days away, the two candidates are clawing for the top spot - and the gloves have come off. trump says: "i think we're doing very well. new polls just came out in south carolina. as you saw, i went up four points and cruz went down three." cruz, shoring up support in the first in the nation primary state of new hampshire today, continued to blast trump for not being a true conservative. cruz says: "mr. trump enthusiastically supported president obama's stimulus plan, and said the only problem was it should have been bigger. i don't think we should have a massive pay off to lobbyists." on the democrat side, a new monmouth university poll shows bernie sanders continuing to cut into hillary clinton's lead. the vermont senator gained 11- points since last month ... promising his campaign is not finished gaining ground.

caught on camera the clark county school district says no students were on board this bus when it caught on fire. this happened in the southwest valley around 7-30 - near fort apache and blue diamond. a crew with a

under the bus and told the driver - who then stopped the bus. firefighters arrived and extinguished the flames. no one was injured. the cause of the fire is under investigation. a greyhound bus crash kills two people and injures 18 others in san jose, california. authorities say the bus overturned and landed on a median along highway-101. traffic was backed up for several miles as emergency crews cleared the scene. no word on what caused the crash. there were no other vehicles involved. pete rose will be inducted into at least one hall of fame. the cincinnati reds announced tuesday that baseball's all-time hits leader will be team's hall of fame in june. he still will not be inducted into major league baseball's hall of fame. the 74-year old was banned from baseball for life sport. magic johnson can't get enough of the l-a sports scene. and he is now the first person to put a deposit on
