a robbery led to a standoff in a west las vegas neighborhood... that last for several hours. five suspects are now in custody. it all started this afternoon-- when police were called for a robbery... near tenaya way and washington. and the investigation then led to a home... on tonopah near vegas drive... police say it then became a barricade situation... which led to surrounding homes being evacuated... and neighboring schools were put on lockdown. including hoggard elementary school... where students were kept-- confined to a classroom for a few hours. and parents were left waiting. "it was a little bit nerve-racking because we've never experienced this before, but i was pretty confident that the school knows what its doing. and my daughter called me and said that she was fine and they were playing in their classroom. so i wasnt too worried about it." veterans tribute career and technical academy and advanced technologies academy were also placed on lockdown. the standoff ended around 6.
