shots were fired. the suspects took off with the four-year-old in a vehicle. the two were later arrested and the child placed in child protective services. tonight, we're side of the story in a situation that was caught on camera and has gone viral, between a motorcyclist and a driver. today we spoke to the driver who admits to pulling a gun, pointing it at after he started knocking on his window. the driver says more to this story. i felt surrounded and threatened, it was an issue. the driver of this red truck told us anonymously that nearly a dozen motorcyclists were riding around him on boulder highway. you see the second three minutes of it, there's about 3 or 4 minutes of what they didn't show you of all the motorcycles being erratic and causing issues in traffic. went off the dirt the rider who filmed the incident and also wants to remain anonymous said it began with a dust up involving blue suv. suv

"punxsutawney phil" predicted an early spring when he didn't see his shadow this morning. here in southern nevada -- we have our own version to predict the forecast. we're waiting on desert tortoise "mojave max" at the red rock national conservation area. he's in a reptile form of hibernation since fall. when the weather is just right -- max emerges from his burrow to signal the start of spring. clark county students are encouraged to guess when he'll wake up from his slumber. today -- newton elementary school learned about the desert tortoise to help with their

preparedness. fox news national security correspondent jennifer griffin has more from the pentagon. defense secretary ash carter announced in december the military would let women serve in all combat roles... it was a historic change greeted with skepticism by many lawmakers on capitol hill... the senate now asking hard questions about how the new rules will be implemented -- and whether standards will be lowered for female applicants to elite units. mabus says: "as long as those standards are not arbitrary, they are operationally relevant, they are job-related, then gender ought to be irrelevant." another big question - whether women should have to register for selective service... the program that's used to determine who is eligible for the draft. women are currently exempt by law - which only congress can change. lawmakers are split on the issue. mccaskill says: "asking women to register as we ask men to register would maybe possibly open up more recruits." mccain says: "i'm concerned that the department has gone about things

find out about the mistake until about 9:30 sunday night. no details on how he was released are being put out ... and at last still free. some remarkable video from southern california today .. a small plane crashed into shallow ocean waters a few miles north of miami beach. aerials show the small plane in the shallow water not far from shore. according to reports .. two people were onboard and rescued. they are said to be in good condition. it's unclear what caused the plane to go down. a couple months ago we showed you video of chinese authorities using a large net to catch drones flying where they were not allowed. police in the netherlands might have an even better idea. they are training eagles to capture and return drones. the eagles target the unmanned devices that some consider a nuisance. the bald eagles have been trained to swoop in and neatly grab the drones with their large talons. the dutch company that came up with the idea calls them a "low tech solution for a high tech problem." still ahead .. a
