governors hoping declaring it as such will help bring teachers to our schools... fox5's miguel martinez-valle joins us at the clark county school district administrative buildings with the details... last year alone clark county turned away 400 potential teachers who did not have nevada licenses. since we have 709 teacher openings those 400 could've come in handy.. clark county is hopening the declarations going to get teachers into classrooms... > now teachers with licenses in other states but not in nevada can teach fulltime. they will be given a one year period to complete their nevada licensing requirments from the time they start teaching in the school district.. the district says this is potentially going to get valley schools 30 new teachers next week alone... > > but not everyones convinced the teacher shortage is coming to an end... > > " it is a step in the right direction, we need to dramatically improve the salaries

and one of the reasons we get so many visitors during major sporting events is that nevada is the only state where single sport betting is legal. u-f-c pledges to support a brain health study to protect its fighters. the m-m-a company extended its partnership with cleveland clinic for five years... and donated one- million dollars. the research is part of the "professional fighters brain health study" at the lou ruvo health. it focuses on how head trauma affects the brain... and how to detect injury. u-f-c says it's the largest combat contributor to the study. it will follow fighters over a long period of time to improve safety in combat sports.
