the mountains edge area. that's where we find fox5's cyndi lundeberg. she joins us now with the latest on this investigation. police do not expect to leave the scene anytime soon... they tell me theyre currently trying to figure out what lead up to the deadly fight.. they also added they arent ruling out criminal charges... lt .dan mcgrath metro police dept.-- its hard to understand how this happened a father stabbed...a son shot to death in a southwest community.... nate muzu- we saw like 15 fire trucks coming and they were coming very fast police tell fox 5 just before 4 pm friday a fight broke out in this home on keifer valley street between a father...and his 19 year old son or step son... the teen reportedly stabbed his dad... the dad then shot and killed him. lt .dan mcgrath metro police dept.-- the family is extremely upset right now i dont know if you could hear them crying down the street the 40 year old was stabbed four times... he is in stable at umc. metro says theyre

investigation... metro police announced the name of the suspect wanted in a shooting. police are looking for 56- year-old "fuyan liao"... who they say goes by other names. there isn't a picture available at this time of liao. metro says liao got in a fight with two victims around two yesterday morning, and shot at both of them. one man was fatally injured, the other was able to escape. liao was seen driving off in a white 2009 infiniti s-u-v with nevada license plate 7-1- 2-a-t-z. metro police are trying to find several suspects they say are forcibly getting into homes, and pistol-whipping homeowners. " if i were able to talk to these individuals right now, i'd say turn yourselves in. the last thing we want to do is see these crimes furthered, see more people victimized " metro says both cases happened in january on the eastern side of the valley. one was at desert inn and theme road... the other was at vegas valley drive and cabana drive. both are near nellis boulevard.

suspects knocked at the door, then broke in the homes. in one case, a victim suffered a brain bleed after getting pistol- whipped. the suspects ransacked the homes and took off in the victims' cars. metro reminds everyone you don't have to answer the door... but don't be scared to let people know you are home. if you have information on any of these crimes tonight, call crimestoppers at 702-385-55-55. for the second time this week... a fatal crash may have happened because the driver suffered a emergency. metro says today's crash was afternoon, on harmon. 2000 chrysler town and country ran off the side of the road, and onto a sidewalk. a witness noticed the driver having a medical episode, and called 9-1-1. metro says the 61-year-old man died at spring valley hospital. on wednesday, police say another driver suffered a medical episode, before crashing into a pole at cheyenne and buffalo. clark county has through a teacher shortage,

help combat it, governor brian sandoval is calling the situation an emergency... fox5's miguel martinez-valle tells us how this could help the county land more teachers last year alone clark county turned away 400 would be teachers because they didnt have a nevada teaching license, with around 709 teaching spots empty in the county, those are full time educators the county could use. " for us this is actually a big game changer, right now we have in the pipeline that we might have otherwise needed to turn away." now that the teacher shortage has been declared clark county classrooms could see new teachers later... " we will be able to process those people next week and we will be able to hire those people." last year 400 potential teachers were turned away for not having nevada teaching licenses... governor brian sandoval's declaration makes it so teachers with licenses in

teach fulltime. this in hopes of getting more permanent teachers into schools. "a lot of students here are being taught by substitute teachers, and you know we do need permanent teachers here in nevada." the teachers will be given a one year period to complete their nevada licensing requirments from the time they start teaching. there are 709 teaching jobs unfilled in the valley, community members hope the governor's move helps ease the workload current teachers are facing... " the classrooms are so over- burdened at this point. i spoke to a teacher the other day they have classrooms of 40 or 50 kids to one teacher, how are kids going to learn in that enviorment how are we going to sustain teachers." the school districts hoping the governors move, along with the recent contract agreement between the district and the teachers union is going to lead to big changes for clark county schools. " the goal is to get such a significant pipeline, that we can afford to be pickier and pickier and pickier and get better quality better quality better quality" clark county

suspended for the non conference schedule after a his reinstatement he appeared in only two games and limited minutes. in the last two weeks he has reportedly trips and was kicked out of practice thursday by head coach another distraction as unlv gets ready for an important road game. looking to settle the score here in fresno. in the first conference game of the season, rallied to stun the thomas and mack crowd and send the team into a mini tail spin. unlv shot only 33 percent for the game and turned the ball over 21 times seeming to lose focus on both ends of the floor including not blocking out and allowing a tip in late to seal their fate. todd simon/unlv interim head coach we have to rebound, that's a huge area. fresno is an old physical team with a wealth of experience, especially with our size being a concern going forward because our ability to run

"these young guys, they see his picture
