they tell me the celebrations are welcome but they ask that you do so responsibly. nats less than five minutes into his shift and this metro officer has pulled someone over for suspected impaired driving. sgt rich robinson - metro : people are going to be out partying so our focus tonight is the metro police monthly dui saturation patrols... it goes through a period of time like through the holidays. we might have done 4-5-6 saturation patrols just in a week or two of december. while this weekend isn't an official it is super bowl 50 and millions of americans will be celebrating with lots of parties and booze. nats super bowl baby im going to get hammered and then im going to watch the game. and that's ok so long as you're responsible. on super bowl sunday last year -- eighty motorists were tested and 24 were arrested but metro says its not just people drinking at a watch party and getting behind the wheel... marijuana is becoming more

and several other agencies are also conducting a sobriety checkpoint on super bowl sunday. it will be on a major street between six at night and one in the morning. several firefighter units are transporting water for a house fire near mount charleston. here's a video a viewer sent in to us of the home in flames. the call came in around eight tonight on kyle canyon road and racel street. crews say the house started to collapse. las vegas fire and rescue say there is limited water available in the area for the remains of it. no one was hurt. clark county fire department will investigate. traffic was shut down on a busy highway because of a possible suicidal person. here's video sent in from the overpass near boulder highway. nevada highway patrol received the call around 5-30 p-m. traffic on the 95 northbound was re-directed to

southbound at charleston. the metro crisis negotiation team were called in to talk to the man. he was taken into custody around three hours later. all lanes were re-opened. a verbal fight between a father and son turns deadly inside a home. it happened friday afternoon on kiefer valley street -- near cimarron and mountains edge. police say the son stabbed his father with a knife several times... before the father shot the son to death. identified the son devry moore. he was killed by a gunshot wound to the chest. his death has been ruled a homicide. the father is stable at u-m-c. several family members including children were at the home when this happened. some of the witnesses were 13 years old. police say family members told them the father and son had a bad relationship. metro police say criminal charges are not being ruled out at this time. an elderly man is found dead in a desert area near boulder city. police received a call from a person who saw the body. it was south of

police have said immediate signs of foul play. the coroner will release the victim's identity. a passenger faces a federal charge for having thousands of drugs in his luggage. arrested at international airport last he was on an american airlines flight bound for charlotte, north carolina. officials say the passenger's five pounds of heroin... and more than two pounds the street value around 200- thousand dollars. the u-s drug enforcement agents will confirm the man's identity. he faces a federal drug trafficking charge. to politics now... the republican presidential candidates take the debate stage in new hampshire -- just three days before the caucuses. kim hutcherson shows us how the political landscape has changed since their last debate. the gloves were off in new hampshire saturday. donald trump doubled down on his controversial positions. super bowl isn't just about football. it's about the food. the "national chicken council" estimates one- point-three billion chicken wings will be eaten this weekend. tomorrow will be the biggest eating day of the year. we talked to folks at the "chicken shack" near sunset and mountain vista. pebowl is one of the busiest times for them. they sell around seven to eight- thousand wings... and about four- thousand chicken fingers. the restaurant's owner says they're prepared for the rush. "its a really busy day but its all at one time. same 9am to 10pm day but its in four hours. starts about noon but ends around halftime so its crazy. we have all the preorders on wall. and then everyday sunday calls in walk in door and want 100 to 200 wings right

lucky enough to get a ticket to see the biggest game of the year in person -- but las vegas is the next best thing! and hundreds of thousands are in town to celebrate. downtown las vegas will host a massive game watch party tomorrow. it's called the "big game bash". the event center is owned and operated by "the d las vegas". it's a 20-thousand square foot tent set up at an outdoor venue. there will be stadium seating and a giant high- def television screen... along with stadium-style food and drink specials.

in a lot of ways when you see super bowl is such a big thing and all gambling this has become our pop culture. this is biggest day of year in america in a lot of ways." the downtown las vegas event center is on the corner of carson and third. that's near the fremont street experience. it's open to the public... but everyone is encouraged to get there early to grab a seat. and many locals will be cheering on a denver broncos starting linebacker tomorrow! brandon marshall is a las vegas native. he played football for cimmaron- memorial high school... then played for u-n-r up north. marshall was a fifth-round pick in the 2012 n-f-l draft. he joined the broncos in 2013. one of cimarron's varsity football coaches played on the same team as marshall in high school... and he says marshall is an inspiration to all the kids. "these young guys, they see his picture all over the weight room, the wall of fame, little cut outs, things like that, and they're like, "wow, that guy actually made it." and they look at me because they know my history and ask

killed was 38 year old, david wichs... a wall streeter who math wiz. he grew up in prague but his life while simply walking down a sidewalk on his way to work. in new york... bryan llenas... fox news. the three others injured were hurt by falling debris. two are in serious condition. three people are two small planes collided off the coast of los angeles. investigators have transitioned from a search for survivors to a recovery operation. fox's will carr has the latest. investigators are still looking for answers as they've transitioned from a search for survivors... to a recovery operation after two planes crashed mid-air. it happened friday afternoon near the port of los angeles. port police tell us they didn't have to close the port, but they did have to redirect ships for a time. witnesses say it was around 3:30 when they saw a plane plunge into the pacific, at the same time the faa reported seeing two planes on radar disappear.

the other was a stunt plane by all accounts the pilots were experienced and both were flying out of zamperini field in torrance. listen to what the coast guard has to say about the crash... williams says: "we have found debris and other materials. we have found a log book of one of the pilots that helped us identify and ascertain the two male passengers in one of the aircraft. we've since learned that there was another aircraft that was overdue expected into the airport and we believe that there was one female passenger in that plane that may have been involved in the mid air collision." it was a clear day, so it doesn't appear that weather was a factor and most likely neither plane had a flight recorder... so it could be a real challenge to figure out what caused the crash. in los angeles, will carr, fox news. diving operations were suspended at sunset... but are expected to resume in the morning.
