timmons is facing multiple charges.. including resisting a public officer with a firearm.... attacking a police animal.... and damaging and destroying state property. mistreating a police animal is a felony- and is punishable with prison time and up to ten thousand dollars in fines. two weeks ago today - the emergency call center for las vegas metro police failed - and today - it's still not known what caused it. callers endured dropped calls and long wait times... and this failure comes just two months after a multi million upgrade to the 911 system. fox 5s cyndi lundeberg has more on how the department is trying to prevent this from happening again... metro says they don't know exactly what caused the six hour crash but believe it had to do with a surge of data which flooded their system and

metro forwarded calls to north las vegas and henderson during the outage... today we asked metro if there had been any complaints because of the failure they said there weren't any that they were of... they did say with confidence that the failure was not caused by a hack... because their firewall was still intact... currently the department is getting additional equipment... adding back up phone lines should the primary phone lines fail and they will also be setting up an offsite call center which will assist the main call center... ultimately tho they said they cannot control technology... "we cannot be sure it's technology it can fail we have improved that and we feel very confident" metro says employees have also been

metro says they are sure the crash was not caused by call volume. henderson and north las vegas police use a different emergency call system. a driver and passenger were hurt after being shot by a suspect from another car on the strip. officers responded around two a-m near las vegas boulevard and tropicana. police say there was an argument between two cars... when shots were fired from one vehicle to another. a driver and passenger from the targeted car were injured. they took themselves to the hospital for treatment... and were later released. no arrests have been made. police say the suspect vehicle was a black four- door sedan with chrome wheels. it had a man and three women inside. police now say

driving drunk when he hit and killed a man kristoffer leigh was driving west on russell in a 2005 cadillac deville with his friend around one a-m when witnesses say he ran a red light and crashed into another driver near decatur. the 61-year-old driver of the died at university medical center. leigh and his minor injuries. police say if you there are plenty of options in las vegas to get home. drive. you can call a taxi cab, you can call an uber, call a friend for goodness don't do this because this is life changing for 2 families right now." leigh failed sobriety tests at the scene. toss to weather we'll be close to 80

the nevada presidential caucuses are just days away... and yet another candidate is coming to town. and he's not alone. senator ted cruz... will join conservative television commentator glenn beck for what is being billed as a "community fireside rally". it takes place sunday... from six to eight p-m... at the henderson convention center on water street. beck endorsed

senator harry reid.... calls out n-v energy.... for its influence on a recent solar power rate hike.... that caused solar power companies to leave the state in recent months.
