thousands were without power for almost four hours. we spoke to gary hawley ... who lives in laughlin. he and his wife mary... were driving home from dinner on bruce woodbury drive... when he noticed the fire. "what i saw was a fireball the size of a two-story building and it suddently flashed up. "from the rear view mirror and the town going dark and the casino row down there is kinda something to see." the american red cross, clark county office of emergency management, lauglhin officials and other community partners are working together to respond to this fire and outage. here in las vegas, fire crews are battling a house fire near the south point casino. you're taking a live look at the fire now. it broke out just before nine, at

and las vegas boulevard. one firefighter was hurt on this job. here's some video from when our crews first arrived at the scene; you can see flames leaping through the house. crews say this is an abandoned home... and someone started the fire to keep warm. they have to let it burn, because the area doesn't have a fire hydrant. crews are bringing water in. there was a casino power outage near the las vegas strip overnight. and gamblers at the westgate were left wondering when they'll get their money back. the power went out around midnight on the westgate's casino floor. clark county firefighters investigated, while

"vrr vrr like real loud so everyone started coming down the stairs people that were asleep they came downstairs they wanted to knwo what was going on." " staff members surrounded machines and printed cash vouchers for players. slot machines are computers, and they keep information after a hard boot. the westgate has not commented on the outage, or what caused it. a father is facing charges... after his 12-year-old son shot and killed himself. this happened on february 13th. police say they got a call about a child being shot, and when they arrived, they found the boy with a gunshot wound. he later died at the hospital. police says the injuries were self-inflicted, and the gun belonged to the boy's father, olin manuel. we spoke to the parents of a girl who was killed while playing with a gun... who are actively working to prevent more gun tragedies

" it just keeps happening. it's almost like a slap in the face every time you see this, you know what the families are going through, you know the horrors from the siblings, cousins, uncles, aunts, the whole family is affected by this. " manuel is being charged with child abuse with substantial bodily harm resulting in death. metro says he's also being charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. the boy's funeral will be in arizona. north las vegas police are giving more information about two horrific child abuse cases. both involve babies and their caretakers. police say a five month old baby died february fifth. his baby-sitter... cynthia lavender... told police she was frustrated with the baby boy, and threw him against the wall. on february 3rd, the baby was found unresponsive, and died from his injuries. police say it's important to stay vigilant when it comes to your child's care. "our message is simple and its this. if you have child

ask questions. if you notice bruise ask questions if child complaining about something ask questions." in the second case, police say alejandra robles was watching a baby at an unlicensed daycare service. she's accused of throwing the baby, and causing permanent brain injuries. this happened back in november, and robles was arrested on wednesday. tomorrow... hillary clinton... and senator bernie sanders will go head to head in tomorrows caucus. both held events today to rally last minute voters. fox 5s cyndi lundeberg had the chance to speak to the former secretary of state... she joins us now live from del sol high school... we asked you our viewers... what you wanted us to ask hillary clinton... and we got your answers...
