money. and clinton will now head to texas where she will continue campaigning cyndi lundeberg fox 5 news local las vegas surveys of caucus goers showed that older women turned out in big numbers to support clinton.. but the former secretary of state struggled with younger women. clinton narrowly beat bernie sanders... who reached out to congratulate her and then headed out to a speech at the henderson pavilion.. fox five's miguel martinez-valle has more on what he had to say after the vote. im here inside the henderson pavilion where bernie sanders spoke after the democratic caucus ended here in nevada. and while it cleared out now it was full of people chanting earlier really showing their support for bernie sanders vo: now while hillary might have won nevada bernie says he's very proud of the work his campaign has done in the silver state. he reminded supporters that just months ago

(hillary clinton, (d) presidential candidate) no one can get this done alone. not even the president of the united states. it's got to be the mission of our entire nation. but the winners were only part of the story. the south carolina result claimed a victim. jeb bush immediately suspended his campaign and marco rubio and ted cruz both spun the result in a way to make future voters believe that they are the candidate best prepared to take trump on. nevada's nevada's democratic party caucuses are over... but we've been hearing about some bad experiences from people that attended today. fox5's abby theodors joins us live from i-15 and russell with more on what happened. all day we've been

emails from people complaining about long lines and a lack of organization while caucusing. so we did a little digging to find out what caused the delays. chants crowds of people showed up to caucusing locations across the valley to get out the vote but the experience was a little more pleasant for some than others nicole ovio, caucuser: everyone got together and we won. hillary won. nicole ovio caucused at a local elementary school in summerlin and said her experience was quick and organized plus her candidate took the win. but for first time voter javonn williams - she says her experience caucusing has her questioning if she'll ever do it again. javon williams: we actually got inside of the building around 12:35 so it was really late and as soon as we got inside they were all over the place. and

understand. williams is a first time voter and says there were no signs guiding attendees. she says she waited several hours before giving up and going home. williams calls her experience a cluster of chaos williams: after that experience i dont want any part of any caucus and i was disappointed. me and my boy friend were really excited to go we never done anything lkike that so we were really excited ot be apart of it and it kind of discouraged us. williams isn't the only one that had a rough time. fox five received a handful of phone calls emails and posts on social media detailing challenges ranging from technical difficules to wait times lasting more than 5 hours. stuart boss with the nevada democrats says when 80 thousand people come out to to caucus state wide- your bound to hit a couple of road bumps stuart boss: lines are going to happen when you have hundreds of people showing up at the same location at the same time but i think that it really showed the energy on the ground this is a volunteer run process. more than 1k

you're watching fox5 news at ten with elizabeth watts. fox5 weather 24/7 with meteorologist les krifaton. this is fox news at ten. local las vegas. a teenager is in critical condition after being hit by a truck. the crash happened just after 2-30 this afternoon near elkhorn and fort apache. the 16-year-old girl was taken to u-m-c with critical injuries. police say the driver of the pickup stayed on scene... and did not show any signs of impairment. police say the pedestrian was not in a marked crosswalk. a gunman is still on the run after killing a man during a confrontation. it happened just after one this morning near lake

was walking in the area when they believe a suspect tried to rob him. officers found the victim on the ground with a gunshot wound. he died at u-m-c. police say a suspect has not been identified. anyone with information about this shooting should call police or crimestoppers 7-0-2-3-8-5-55-55. a gun safety class offered here in the valley shows how you can defend yourself when faced with gun violence. we have some breaking news. a suspect is arrested in a deadly shooting on the strip friday morning. 30-year-old omar talley faces charges of murder and attempted murder

cruz says: "south carolina has given us another remarkable result." senator marco rubio making a strong showing in south carolina....on the heels of two major endorsements, from governor nikki haley and senator tim scott. rubio says: "this country is now ready for a new generation of conservatives to guide us into the 21st century." jeb bush making the decision to suspend his campaign after the results. bush says: "i remain optimistic that with the right kind of leadership that we all need to work to make sure happens, america's best days are ahead." on the democrats' side... hillary clinton the nevada caucuses. nats chanting: hillary, hillary clinton says: "i am so so thrilled and so grateful to all my supporters out there." senator bernie sanders congratulated clinton on her victory in the close race and says he's looking forward to future contests. clear to me and i think most wind is at our backs." the democratic

thousands of lawmakers... dignitaries... family and friends say goodbye to supreme court justice antonin scalia. noticeably missing- president obama.. fox's shannon bream reports on the funeral. thousands gathered today at washington's basilica of the national shrine - the largest roman catholic church in north america - to bid farewell to antonin gregory the 103rd justice to sit on the u-s supreme court. today's funeral mass was celebrated by his son, father paul scalia. scalia says: "we are gathered here because of one man. a man known personally to many by reputation to loved by many, a man known for and for great compassion, that man, of course, is jesus of nazareth." justice scalia had

in case you missed it this week -- a new report has surfaced boosting hopes of the n-c-a-a bringing championship sporting events to las vegas. the n-c-a-a already has post- season events in las vegas in the form of the 'las vegas bowl' and various college basketball conference tournaments. however -- games like those associated with the n-c-a-a tournament and college football playoff remain banned in the state of nevada due to the state's gambling nature. but according to c-b-s sports -- lifting the ban had "strong support" from the n-c-a-a's competition oversight committee last week in indianapolis. the n-c-a-a council will consider lifting the ban among dozens of other proposals during its next meeting april 6th throught the 8th in indianapolis. new legislation would take effect
