smoke and flames.. clark county fire sent four engines to fight the blaze. crews immediately went inside the home in rescue mode- after hearing reports of someone inside and they did discover a body. witnesses say the woman had run back inside the home to rescue her pets. sandra jones/witness "i saw men beating down the side yard there trying to get back there and they were after dogs, they got some dogs, meanwhile somebody had gone back in the house." witneses say animal control took the dogs. sadly the woman did not make it back out. right now it's unclear what started this fire no other injuries were reported. reporting live ew ffn llv. the coroner's office will identify the victim and cause of death. a driver making a left turn hit and injured two people walking

morning.. it happened at the corner of rainbow and del ray avenue on the valley's west side. metro police say the driver turned left off rainbow and hit the couple crossing del rey in a marked crosswalk. the driver, who stayed at the scene, said he didn't see them. sgt. richard strader / las vegas metro police "here's the message right here, when you're making those left hand turns you don't only have to look for vehicles that may cross your path, you need to look for those pedestrians, the pedestrians have a right to be in those crosswalks so make that extra look to make sure the sidewalks are clear." police did not ticket the driver morning, but might once their investigation is done. the injured couple were taken to umc. 57-year-old flora largusa is in critical condition, while her husband jerry is in serious condition. health officials have declared a syphilis outbreak in the las vegas area. the southern nevada health district said this morning clark

expected to take 3 thousand cars off of our roads and thats better not just for nascar fans - but for the everyday traveler next weekend. the 20th annual series begins next thursday with a test session free to all everyone. it's expected to draw a hundred thousand fans to speedway through sunday - the day of the main event the kobalt 400. the speedway says shuttles will run three days - friday saturday and sunday. each morning there will be 20 to 30 busses waiting and each of these five spots - the plaza hotel downtown and then the stratosphere, treasure island, ballys and tropicana on the strip. all of the busses depart at once and return at the end of the day - but the rides are not free. for all three days 99 dollars - and just for
