students... broke into their apartment, and made off with their belongings. the victims... high profile runnin' rebels. what they are asking you to lookout for. this is fox5 news at 10. local. las vegas. a couple gets word of an intruder in one of the houses they manage. i'm christine maddela. i'm john huck. they take their dog and their gun to investigate and one man ends up dead fox5's miguel martinez-valle joins us from the neighborhood where it happened with the details this is the home where the shooting happened around 3 o clock this afternoon... neighbors tell me the home is supposed to be empty, but they often see people coming in and out of the house, some say they even saw someone inside this morning... " i was out working in the garage, i just walked in the house for a second and i heard a loud bang," tony morgan stayed home from work to take care of his sick son. " i wouldve lost my mind, especially if he was here" but instead of a relaxing afternoon at

day off trying to figure out what happened just a few houses from his. "sirens, ambulance, fire trucks, cop cars." police tell us a man in his mid 20's was shot in the backyard of a vacant home... by the property managers. " the locksmith told them he thought there was somebody in the residence." the property managers, a man and his wife, went in the backyard of that home. they took their dog and their gun, looking for any unwanted tenants. they found one, and a deadly confrontation followed. " the fist fight goes to the ground, at some point, i dont know if he regains his footing. but hes able to retrieve his fire arm." police say the intruder punched the property manager several times in the face. the dog was also punched. eventually he was able to get his gun and shoot the intruder. " the male was transported to sunrise trauma, and he was pronounced deceased, unfortunately" police say the intruder's backpack held a screw driver and other tools commonly used to break into homes. they're investigating wether the man shot could have

it's a question people have been asking for nearly two decades.... star tupac it's one of the most notorious murders in las despite dozens of multiple it's never been two former los angeles police detectives have come forward claiming they know who pulled the trigger. fox 5s cyndi lundeberg joins us now with what she's uncovered... starting out on this case was not easy... i made a list of every person i wanted to talk to... and most of them including key eyewitnesses... and la county police officers who were there.... are now dead. i was able to talk to one of tupacs former bodyguards... he told me you wouldnt believe the corruption inside death row records... as with any murder investigation... we must rely on information given to us by police...

monday. maya's been a volunteer here at st rose for 2 years hello! you're so nice where's my kiss? gimme kiss she's an attention hog, perfect therapy dog. she loves people, loves being petted, just something for her and i to do together as well the patients love maya right back. it makes them smile. very rarely does anyone look at maya and not smile. if we can bring a little happiness in that's what we do yeah, you are maya is a shelter dog. denise gave maya a forever home, and now maya helps patients feel at home in what can be an uncomfortable and sterile hospital room. there's a lot of people that don't have family to visit them, a lot of people who have dogs at home and they miss them terribly i watch them and get choked up. just two seconds with maya, the staff and patients, they're so happy to see both of them. it's heartwarming. you
