started a new job at southern highland prep academy - thats when she told police she realized he used her in quote any way that he really could, he wanted to use as much of me that he could in the time he had so he did it." apparently at southern highlighds - brinks had moved on - texting another 13 year old - a charge to which he pleaded guilty this week. the las vegas township justice court explains - in exchange for that guilty plea - the pornography charges related to the schofield middle school student may be dropped. fox 5 visited the address listed under ryne brinks name to speak with family. "knock" nobody was home. brinks is scheduled for sentencing june 8th. in interviews with police - brinks admitted the relationship with the girl at southern highlands was inappropriate but didnt think it was illegal. the arrest report with the girl here at schofield middle school - did

comments from brinks. repportingl ive. southern highlands prep academy fired brinks in early october. the parent from schofield middle school approached police later that month. the driver accused of driving drunk and causing a deadly crash on boulder highway last year pleads guilty. "judge: are you pleading guilty today because you are truly guilty of these two offenses? lee: yes your honor." 22-year-old seong lee pleaded guilty to two counts of d-u-i resulting in death. each charge carries up to 20 years behind bars. police say lee was behind the wheel in the march 5-th crash that killed 18-year-old gabrielle thomas and 17-year-old kamesha gilmore. an arrest report says lee admitted to drinking several beers before driving. he was also out on bond for another d-u-i charge. a judge says lee will not be eligible for probation. once he's released from prison -- he will have a restricted driver license... and must order a

owns or operates. date is april 18-th. clark county school district superintendent pat skorkowsky used today february 29th as his theme for his state of the district address. is what he said the district has accomplished this past year. fox5's les krifaton joins us live from the newsroom with more on the story. what was the highlight of his speech? for a school district that doesn't rank very high nationally there has been plenty of progress under the leadership of superintendent pat skorkowsky. his state of the district address gave him plenty to brag about today. i am going to bring out the newest edition of the cimarron- memorial memorila family and that is the queen of hearts so can we bring out the queen of hearts? if this robot built by cimarron students is any indication things are looking up for the school district. pat skorkowsky was more than excited to brag

accomplishment to start his state of the district address. out of 646 teams and 34 countries we had the number 2 robotics team in the country. his theme this year is leaping forward and that's what he said happened over the past year. 3 ccsd schools were named by the u.s. department of education as being among the top 335 schools in the country. the ranking is based on academic achievement. the only district that had more schools this year than we did was miami-dade in southern florida. among the other accomplishments, improving college readiness and the graduation rate from 2014. looking ahead, skorkowsky wants to build on past successes. he says one way to do that is to provide more learning for children at the kindergarten level thanks to some help from the state. finally every student in the student in the state of nevada will have a full day of kindergarten experience which is huge. thanks to state funding those full day classes will begin later this year along with other programs that include hiring more and attracting better quality teachers with higher pay starting at $40,000 a year. we're actually going out to teachers who

teachers that have 29 plus years experience and actually getting them because those are the teachers who would be willing to move as for his vision for the next school year continue to improve reading proficiency, diminishing the achievement gap, increasing the graduation rates, getting family and the community more involved in their neighborhood schools, continuing to improve student safety and happiness and building on career technology education. and while we have seen alot of improvements under pat skorkowsky the ccsd ranks low compared to other districts across the country, but at least it's moving in the right direction. it seems like school board members like skorkowsky's progress... last week they gave him a new two year contract

ear-old student pulled out a gun in a southwestern cafeteria and opened fire. four students were hurt. two were shot and two others were injured from shrapnel or while trying to run from a building at madison high school. the butler county sheriff's office says the 14-year- old suspect... hancock... ran from the school - threw the gun down - and was taken into custody nearby. investigators say there was a motive to the shooting - but have not yet revealed it. "it's sad that anybody got hurt and i'm not sure why, uh, um, a young man would feel compelled to do somethin' like this, but when they do it's--it affects everybody." investigators say the students who were shot were 14 and 15 years old and were taken to the hospital. no timetable yet on their recovery. today - u.s senior chief special warfare operator edward byers became only the fifth navy seal...

medal of honor. in 2012..., byers helped with the rescue of an american civilian being held hostage by the taliban in afghanistan. the pentagon says he used hand-to-hand combat with a number of assailants - and used his own body to shield the hostage. but the rescue also resulted in the death of a member of the navy's special warfare development group, also known as seal team six. a half million dollars over about a quarter of an inch of bread... if that. the subway sandwich chain agreed to settle a case that charged them with selling footlong sandwiches that fell short of 12 inches. most of the 525- thousand dollars will pay for the plaintiff's attorneys fees.. and will only result in some minor disclosure changes by subway. but the settlement comes as a surprise to some. the judge explained that the case was weak based on the standardized methods for making the bread and the sandwiches-- and because most of the bread that ended up being shorter came within a fourth of an inch of the one foot mark. our legal analyst bob massi is here

we have an update on breaking news we told you about earlier tonight. this is a live look.... at jones and alta.... where a crash took place involving at least two cars. metro now says two people were taken to u-m-c. an adult - and a juvenille who was a pedestrian. it's not clear if anyone else was hurt... or what caused the crash. a southern highland prep teacher pleading guilty to inappropriately texting students today.

second arrest report that says ryne brinks was not only texting with but also sending nude photos to students at another school. fox5's ophelia young is at schofield middle school right now with the allegations from another teenaged student. it was after they saw ryne brinks arrested on the news - a mother and another 13 year old approached ccsd saying he also had an inappropriate relationship here at schofield elementary school. the girl told police brinks told her she remind him of a younger version of his then girlfriend. she explains that he began messaging her on instagram and the communication eventually turned sexual - she says they exchanged photos of different body parts and he touched himself inappropriately in videos and phone conversations. she told police the 4 month relationship ended when he started a new job at southern highland prep - where he began texting another 13 year old - a charge he pleaded guilty to to today. metro detectives
