theodros, who joins us from grand hills and eastern to show us some damage. one of the crazier events from this weeks weather...part of a valley womans home caught on fire after her roof was struck by lightening. here's a round up of some of he valleys wild weather... dedee orchard, was loud parts of the valley saw rain and aggressive thunderstorms - that were impossible to ignore. 10-20 dedee orchard, madeira canyon: it was so loud it shook the whole house. the dog went running for my head and my six year old came running in. she told me the house was going to fall apart. then we couldnt go back to sleep because it kept going for another hour. dedee orchard lives in madeira canyon near the mountains...where homes are more vulnerable to lightening strikes. this home -was hit early this morning causing a fire to ignite in the attic. 31-44 scott

there was an interruption during the clinton rally and some protesters i'll tell you what they were protesting coming up on fox5 news at five... mmv ffn ll hillary clinton also visited a local business while she was in town. clinton toured "mojave electric comp of her effort to talk about job creation. she said if she becomes president, she will strive to create conditions that will enable people to start their own businesses. attorneys for the three suspects in the deadly lee's liquor store robbery argued the merits of some pieces of evidence in the case today. lee dominic sykes, ray brown and lee murray sykes appeared before judge eric johnson. he denied two motions today, one involving a subpoena, another involving certain evidence admissable in the case. both sides wanted the trial date

august of next year. the three are accused of robbing lee's liquor and then shooting and killing clerk matthew christensen. now to a fox5 follow up... metro's animal cruelty unit says two brothers are behind a massive rooster fighting operation. silvester gayton and javier salgado are each facing two counts related to the "owning /training /and promoting of animal fighting". 550 birds were found on the property near nellis and owens after a police officer noticed the setup... and a search wra led to the birds' discovery. in: 13;46;36;05 "fights were not in progress. this was more of a training and breeding facility for fighting. if someone is present for animal fighting be it cock-fighting or dog-fighting that is gross misdemeanor as a first offense and you will be arrested and you will be prosecuted." the roosters were taken to local animal shelters. metro police say from their understanding, this is the largest animal fighting ring that has been

the suspect who threw a puppy out of a window... told neighbors they would do it again according to her arrest report. police say "danny webb" threw the puppy named "cannon" from the third floor. the suspect then threw a bag of dog food, and that hit a neighbor who ran out to help the puppy. police say webb told them they were frustrated cannon had made a mess, so they put the puppy on the balcony. the suspect then claimed they hit cannon hard enough to make him fly off the balcony... but they didn't mean to kill it. the chihuahua mix was rushed to a veterinarian, but his injuries were too severe and he was euthanized. webb was arrested and is now facing two counts of animal cruelty. and there's still a lot of questions, after a dog died in a henderson animal control van. we told you about "mr. chops"... a dog that was picked up, then left in the van for 17 hours. henderson officals say they are now changing procedures on how they handle animals that come in their care. all vehicles must be inspected at the end of each shift, and officers must bring each animal to the shelter immedietely after a pick-up. many fox5 viewers

case is considered animal abuse. fox5 legal analyst bob massi says this will most likely be considered neglect. " usually when you talk about animal abuse, you're talking about they're actually abusing the animals. which is horrific, i can't believe it. but i think hopefully there will be people who will be reasonable on both sides, not put up the wall and try to get resolution. " we spoke to clark county animal control to see if they are making any changes after this incident. clark county officials say their procedures prevent an incident like this from happening, because officers sanitize carriers every time they drop off an animal at the shelter. a new travel option could change how chinese visitors come to las vegas... and vice versa. what's being offered... that will be a big boost to both our city and one in china. and we sit down with metro officers, to talk about one of the areas on the east side of town, that sees way too many accidents, in this

terrorism, in a violent knife attack that left an american woman dead. police say a man ran along a path and cut people randomly. five people were hurt, and a woman in her 60's was killed. witnesses say the american collapsed after she was stabbed in the back. at first police indicated this could be a terror attack. but now, they're working with another theory.
