"when i saw his wife last night she said it doesn't feel real yet." bruce says the family served the community for decades -- and it's imposible to measure how many lives they touched. "over the course of the years...hundreds if not thousands have been positively influenced by his christ-like example...they brought out the best in people, so it's a big loss" and while mike's coworkers and students say it's hard imagining somebody else filling his office... they say they'll someday see the family again. recovering at the hospital. reporting in the newsroom, eric hilt, fox5 news local las vegas. the crash happened at mile marker 75 - near the valley of fire highway. a woman who was found dead over the weekend - got into an argument with her estranged husband on the day she died. that's according to metro investigators... who say the husband was not at the scene when officers arrived sunday evening. the woman...who was in her 70's... was found dead by her roommate with severe head injuries. the discovery happened at a lane - near washington and sloan. the woman's estranged husband - who lives out of state - is a person of interest in the case. police are also looking for a man in connection to a sexual assault that happened at a hotel near boulder highway and desert inn saturday afternoon. the supect can be seen in this surveilance video. officers arrived at the property - around 4-30 p-m. metro says an employee of the hotel was assaulted inside a room... and taken to u-m-c before officers arrived. it's believed the the man

- attacked - and sexually assaulted the victim. if you have information on either one of these cases - call police or crimestoppers at 702-385-55-55. four men accused in the murder of 16-year-old aric brill will not face the death penalty. arthur moore, nadin hiko, devonte wash and devon phillips appeared before district court judge elizabeth gonzalez brill's parents were also there as the state announced they do not plan to seek the death penalty. we reached out to the district attorney's office to ask why that decision was made. while there wasn't an exac reason given, their office said they reviewed it like they do all other cases... and concluded that it would not be considered in this case. the brill's voiced their disappointment after court. "i still have faith that the judicial system is gonna take care of these guys in the end. i don't think they're going to see the light of day. maybe being in jail for the rest of their lives is even better than taking their lives, and i'm not sure when the last time nevada but anybody to death anyhow."

fox5 they do hope to seek legal recourse for the da's office to reconsider pursuit of the death penalty. a person hurt - in a shooting near the strip is morning. it happened around midnight.... on las vegas boulevard - near sahara. police say the victim was shot in the stomach... and taken to the hospital. the person is expected to survive. no word on a suspect. police describe the victim as "uncooperative". a delta airlines power outage in atlanta is affecting the travel plans of thousands of travelers - to and from las vegas. fox5's vince sapienza is live at mccarran airport - with how they are dealing with the delays. john, cyndi... delta airlines updated their website less than an hour ago... announcing over 740 flight cancellations... now at 2pm just 39% of scheduled flights were operated.... that number is now above 50%

with today were delayed at least two-to three hours.... and those ones who did arrived were without luggage.. as many flights were not matching up with the baggage claim... frustration was an obvious and expected emotion from traveleres today.... but despite lengthy delays and cancellations.. people were surprisingly understanding.... miles... a stowaway cat making its presence known in a minneapolis neighborhood. ted haller has the story. like a summer storm... nats: "cause it was so loud..." it came from the west. nats: "it woke us up about 6 a.m." from south dakota. sweeny says: "i heard him last night." sperber says: "it was just so high pitched." the noise troubling even for a street with the occasional jet casting a shadow. this shadow... much that meow sounded more like an ow to this street. sperber says: "the cat woke us up we live right over there." neighbors realized the sound came from a cat... somewhere inside this car... parked here on thursday. larson says: "we spent about 4-5 hours here on friday trying to coax the cat out... with tuna, salmon, a box to climb into... with no success." sweeny says: "we

the average price of gas is two dollars and thirty-nine cents... that's according to gas buddy dot com. the natonal average is down about half a cent per gallon over the last week...sitting at two dollars and twelve cents a gallon. gas around the valley this week is actually eighty- two cents less than it was this time last year. it's one of the most frustrating things on your facebook feed. click bait. you know the headlines. things like -- you gotta see the crazy thing this dog did. forcing you to click the story to find out. and usually the well -- facebook is making a change that could impact your feed now. mary moloney explains in today's consumer watch. it seems like your facebook feed is crowded with posts like this -- "you'll never believe which two stars got into a fight on the red carpet." the picture tells you nothing. and the headline adds this enticing line -- "click to find out which starlet they were fighting over." of course you have to click the link for the latest juicy gossip. and as soon as you get directed to the website -- you are immediately

knowing that you got duped -- by clickbait. you're not alone. here's the problem. since others clicked that link -- the post gets shown to more people -- and it gets higher and higher on newsfeeds. thus perpetuating the clickbait. but facebook says it's had enough. and is changing it's algorithm. so you'll see more posts from friends. and less from brands and publishers. who -- by the way -- pay close attention to this kind of stuff. facebook is also taking it a step further. basically -- facebook will identify articles that lack specifics in the headline, or exaggerate the misleading expectations on the feed, and give them less prominence. this isn't the first time f-b tried to clamp down on clickbait. and it probably won't be the last. for consumer watch -- i'm mary moloney this update comes on the heels of facebook realigning. in june, the social media platform announced it would change their news feed algorithms to feature posts from friends and family more prominently than content from publishers. this would be a blow to news sites, with some reports claiming that
