(winter prosapio / schlitterbahn corporate director of communications) "we are saddened to share that a young boy died on verruckt this afternoon." a state lawmaker's son died tragically sunday... ...while riding the world's tallest water slide in kansas. caleb thomas schwab was just 10 years old. he was killed while riding the 'verrrckt' - a towering, 17-story water slide at schlitterbahn water park in kansas city. verrrckt - which translates to "insane" in german - propels riders down a steep incline -- from a platform higher than niagara falls. reaching speeds of 50 miles an hour, it then sends t up and down a second incline. caleb's father - state legislator scott schwab and his wife, michele, released a statement sunday that read in part... "since the day he was born, he brought abundant joy to our family and all those who he came into contact with." schlitterbahn water parks' corporate communications director indicated sunday that the cause of the tragedy wasn't yet clear. away behind bushes in a benton, kentucky apartment complex, is a spot parker crittendon, john peter smith, and another friend often explore. but after saturday's rain... the water didn't look like this. (parker crittendon/rescued from creek) "i'm still scared. i'm definitely not going back in there.". (juliana valencia/reporting) "parker says the waters suddenly rose to around here but even water as low as 6 inches deep can kn your feet when water is moving rapidly." (parker crittendon/rescued from creek) "it was like a wave." that's when the current dragged the three away. robert duncan and his wife jordan heard screams. (robert duncan/good samaritan) "i couldn't see them. i heard them yelling daddy help me." duncan pushed through the bushes until he spotted parker hanging by a branch. he pulled parker out...going back for john peter and a girl now farther down on the other side of the creek. (robert duncan/good samaritan) "this was just something that needed to be done." quick action that saved three children...and provided relief to their families. hulu is dropping free t-v episodes. the move comes as the online streaming service works on an online television service to rival cable t-v. hulu says free typically the most recent four or five episodes from a show's current season... will be gone from the site within a few weeks. but you can still watch for free. the episodes are now on yahoo . while hulu started as a free site... free video has become more difficult to find after hulu launched a subscription version in 2010. they're not available on hulu's mobile apps or streaming-tv devices... just on hulu-dot-com from a traditional computer. hulu says relatively few are watching the free videos. the company plans to

trouble with the law. police say he was flying too close too the ground. take a look at this photo from over the weekend. the osceola county sheriff's office is using the picture as evidence in a case against thomas vorstman. deputies say they watched as his helicopter hovered just a few feet above heavy traffic on an expressway near orlando. "it was too close to the ground, so i think it's pretty dangerous." deputies say they tried to speak with vorstman when he landed - but he refused to turn off or get when he landed - but he refused to turn off or get out of the chopper... taking off again

five minutes later - vorstman finally got out and said he was flying so low because he had a heavy load. he was immediately arrested - and fired by the helicopter tour company. first - the democratic national committee was hacked. now... some tech experts say it's possible for hackers to swing the u-s election. while there's no indication an election or the voting process has ever been hacked... there are concerns about vulnerabilities in the system. each u-s county uses what they feel works. about 75 percent of the country still makes their paper... while others use electronic and optical scanning devices. security firm "symantec" actually purchased a couple of electronic voting machines on ebay to see how secure they really are. "with the smart cards running small little computer systems on there, a device as tiny as this could be used to manipulate the smart card to allow you to vote multiple times." "i can probably put about four hundred votes in myself in less than a couple minutes and the poll workers would

even if just one voting machine is perceived as compromised... that could have broad implications in how the american public will view the political process. tonight - smoke - from a largely uncontained wildfire east of los angeles...is now blowing all the way to las vegas. the "pilot fire" in san bernardino county has now spread across seven square miles. fox five chief meteorologist ted pretty has more. a fierce firefight underway in southern california... a fast-burning wildfire that started sunday afternoon -- quickly erupting and burning more than two square miles in just a matter of hours. unidentified fire witness says: "too close for comfort to tell you the truth." the flames fueled in part by strong winds -- forcing the evacuation of dozens of homes in the silverwood lake area...some fifty-five miles east of l-a.... and about 30 miles south of victorville. weisser says: "we

the front yard watching the flames." the fire tripling in size overnight, jumping from fifteen-hundred acres sunday to forty-five hundred by monday morning. deyoe says: "there's dust and ash flying around everywhere your tired its three o'clock in the morning and you got to keep going." sherwin says: "the wind stayed on it which created some explosive fire behavior last night. finally in the early morning hours we did get some relief from the wind." more than five hundred firefighters have been called to the scene - tackling the flames on the ground - along with at least sixteen helicopters and air tankers making drops from above. and it's not just the flames causing concern -- that air quality may reach unhealthy levels in nearby areas from the smoke. this, just the latest major fire in what has already been a tough season through the western u-s... this weekend alone -- national fire officials reported nearly thirty major wildfires in 12 states. in california -- there have already been about four thousand wildfires this year. and, we're only now getting into the peak fire season. now fox5 weather 24/7, with chief meterologist ted pretty we'll see south

"(fireworks)" the iconic vegas resort celebrated its 50- th anniversary. on friday.... a party with fireworks was held by the pool - hosted by chef gordon ramsay. then on saturday - an anniversary gala was held... with appearances by celebrities - and performers who have played it caesars palace over the years - including jennifer lopez - and tony bennet.
