funeral expenses. richard frias- guzman : you feel like you're a lone. you feel like nobody has gone through what you're going through. but thats what we're out here to do. we want to make sure people dont feel like theyre alone. a group of about 30 washed cars near lamb and lake mead. the mood was heavy - as they remembered the the deep and sudden loss. lizeth cuevas, best friend : everything about her was so beautiful. we took so many trips together, we wanted to travel the world. we wanted to do so many things we wanted to open a business. she didnt deserve that. she didnt. she was 25 years old. best friends with rodriguez - and says the family was too upset to show up to show up today. she also says they're griving but wont rest until her killer is found. lizeth cuevas: im scared that he's going to attack again. im scared that he's aware of everything that's going on. if he was so close to her, im scared he's aware of all her friends and im scared for everybody. police are still

running smoothly again at 11:30 eastern. large columns of smoke were seen in the northern part of the valley this afternoon. las vegas fire and rescue tells us it came from a home near lake mead and m-l-k. three people were inside the home when it sparked up.... neighbors came to help get them out. when firefighters got to the home....one woman was still trying to escape. crews got her out... she was taken to the hospital to get checked out. fire crews say the blaze destroyed the patio area and the atti about 65 thousand dollars of damage. it was a hot one out there this weekend.... we're hoping relief is in sight! nate's in for les tonight with an early look at your back-to-work forecast. after tying the record high for sunday (111). it looks like monday's record (also 111) will hold. it will still be well-above the normal high of 102 to start the new week, but southwest wind up to 20mph may be enough to keep the afternoon high

daytime temps will slowly slide down the temperature rollercoaster for the rest of the week, so that by friday the mercury willtop out around 102. earlier forecasts of slight rain chances for thursday and friday have been dropped, although we'll still see more clouds in the southern nevada sky by mid-week two men were killed in a casino parking lot early this morning. north las vegas police say they got a call about shots being fired around 4-am at the silver nugget casino. the men were pronounced dead on scene. police are still trying to find out exactly what

the run. homicide detectives were called to the same casino parking lot when a hotel employee was shot by an officer back in may. police say a pedestrian died this morning after being involved in an overnight crash. it happened around 11-30 near lake mead and las vegas boulevard... near the silver nugget casino. police say the 70- year-old man was crossing the street... and say he wasn't in the crosswalk but near it. the man was taken to u-m-c where he later died. the driver stayed on scene and cooperated with police... he was not arrested. a teen is shot right at his doorstep in a northwest valley neighborhood. but those who live in the area say... a lot of trouble has come out of that house. we had aboslutely no issues until last july when they moved in. and it started with him and his friends hanging around outside drinking and smoking. police say a 17- year-old was shot in his lower body after an argument with several people.

afternoon in the area of fort apache and grand teton. police say he was taken to u-m-c and is expected to be okay. viewer courtney.. who only wanted to be identified by her first name, says the teen was arrested trying to break into her house a few months back. police are still looking for the person who shot him. two men who robbed the hooters casino this morning are still on the run. police say it happened around 10-am. a fox5 viewer ... who sent us this picture... tells us a man waited until the ticket redemption machine was opened up... gun and took the money. police say the incident is still under investigation and the suspects are still on the loose. police need your help looking for a man they say tried to rob a convenience store last month. they say this man told the clerk he had a gun but didn't pull it out. he didn't get away with anything or any money... but police are still hoping to identify him. he's described as about six feet tall and around 20 years old. he was last seen wearing a black hoodie... jeans... and white

if you know who or where this man is...call police right away. you can also call crime stoppers... that number is 702-385-55-55. scary moments for olympic medalist ryan lochte and three fellow u-s swimmers-- as the group gets robbed at a gunpoint. the u-s olympic committee says it happened in rio de janeiro this morning. the four athletes were in a taxi that was pulled over by robbers posing as police. lochte says the robbers ordered everyone to get to the ground. he says he initially re of the robbers put a gun to his head. the attackers took the athletes' wallets and cellphones, and luckily-- no one was injured. police say they have opened an investigation into the incident. and in a tweet lochte thanked his family, friends, and fans for the support following the robbery... saying in part-- quote: "while it is true that my teammates and i were the victims of a robbery early sunday morning, what is most important is that we are safe and unharmed." lochte was in the taxi with u-s swimmers gunnar bentz, jack

contained. submerged homes and stranded cars in southern louisiana -- as the dangerous rescue mission continues. rain has pounded the state-- claiming at least three lives. at least one person is still missing. fox news correspondent will carr reports from baton rouge. ((vo)) emergency crews working to rescue scores of residents in louisiana from deadly flooding ... from the air-- homes look more like little islands.. farms have been inundated and streets resemble pools of water. louisiana governor john beldw says at least 7,000 people have been rescued so far. ((sot)) edwards: "the number of fatalities remains at 3 and we believe there may be on more individual who is unaccounted for." ((vo)) although the storms have moved to the west --more heavy rain is expected in and around the state. rivers are expected to keep rising until monday. flooded residents have very little options

locals describing their ordeal on getting out of their homes ((sot)) mos: "we tried out the backdoor but there were spiders. we tried out the kitchen but there was a snake. we got through that and finally got into the car ((vo--nats up)) and in a dramatic video caught on camera-- two men on a boat pulled a woman from a car that was almost completely underwater one of the rescuers jumps into the brown water and pulls the woman to safety. she pleads for the man to get her dog, but he can't find it. after several seconds, the rescuer goes underwater and resurfaces - with the small dog. ((on cam tag)) tba and in manila today.... a tornado ripped through philippines capital-- as parts of the country continue to experience extreme weather.

500 local foster children were treated to a spa day today. they were square salon at their annual back to school event. the kids were treated to a party complete with a d-j... free haircuts... manicures... a backpack full of school supplies... and new shoes. the salon partners with the "casa foundation" which supports children in foster care. "it's just a transformation you know they come in here they're a little bit apprehensive, it's a lot going on it's very overwhelming and then when they leave they're just happy and they've got a spring in their step they're just so happy they came and happy to be here.

five years ago with just 80 foster children... this year they treated five hundred. students from the "school of rock green valley" made their debut tonight at the foundation room, (music playing) the school held its mid-season fundraiser at mandalay bay this evening. all proceeds go towards scholarships for next year's students who wouldn't otherwise be able to attend. students from pre-school to high school learn guitar... bass... vocals... the keyboard... and the drums. and for a lot of these kids... it was was their first live performance. so there's a lot of butterflies floating around the foundation room but as i've told them before as soon as they get out there and they get 20 seconds into a song they're going to be electrified and energized. tonight's concert paid tribute to the summer of grunge.... metalocalypse... and the dawn of

children from one of rio de janeiro's poorest neighborhoods are dreaming of an olympic future. kids from rio's largest favela, rocinha, are going to surf school -- where they practice their craft with hopes of one day competing on the global stage. the school was founded two decades ago by surfer ricardo ramos -- with the idea of teaching children from the impoverished community and adults with special needs to surf. rf its debut as an olympic sport at the 20-20 summer games in tokyo. a driver pulled to safety just seconds before his car burst into flames. how this lamborghini got split into two... and the good samaritans that saved the man driving it. and... the u-s may be dominating at the olympics... but the same cannot be said for an international drone race. we'll take you to those games... when we come right back. if you missed a

30-seconds before it exploded. it happened after his lamborghini crashed and caught fire yesterday. and as michelle gallardo reports, the driver owes a big "thank you" to some good samaritans. steering wheel.'" king, who also witnessed the accident says the lamborghini was going southbound on columbus near balbo this afternoon, when the driver of this lincoln coming from the opposite direction tried to turn onto balbo, apparently without looking. the lincoln crashed into the lamborghini, which swerved, hitting a light pole, splitting the car into two. an off-duty cook department investigator, who asked we blur his face made the decision to rescue the lamborghini's driver (unidentified cook county investigator / face blurred): "we didn't want to move him because of transported to the hospital. there's still no information on his condition. an international drone racing competition coming to life in austria... racing around the ruins of a castle on a hill... are drones mounted with cameras. some 40 pilots

torched by protesters ..furious over the fatal shooting of a man by police earlier that day. the mayor says what started as a traffic stop.. escalated. (mayor tom barrett/ milwaukee) "this stop took place because two officers who were there to make sure that there is order in this neighborhood and they felt there was suspicious activity going on." authorities say after the officers pulled the vehicle over, two people got out of the car and took off on foot. one officer later opened fire.. fatally shooting one of the two men. police say he was armed with a handgun. and a measure that you will seee on the ballot this november looks to legalize recreational marijuana. you'll be seeing pro-pot ads on t-v stations in the valley. a group called "the coalition to regulate marijuana like alcohol" reserved nearly 800- thousand dollars in airtime. the coalition raised 285- thousand dollars in the first half of this year... most of that money coming from nevada marijuana companies. in health news... obesity is more co cancer survivors than in the general population. researchers say the problem is high among survivors of colorectal and breast cancer. they analyzed data from more than a half million adults in the u-s between 1997 and 2014. among people with no history of cancer... 21- percent were considered obese in 97.... compared to 29-percent in 2014. but cancer survivors' obesity rate went up from 22 to 32 percent over that same
