of 44-thousand cars coming into clark county from california daily... the fire caused major delays. fox 5s cyndi lundeberg joins us now live in studio with more on the delays... and alternate routes for those who need to hit the road... are still fully cosed from main st near hesperia ... to route 215. the cajon pass where this fire began burning is about 60 miles east of los angeles... so cars are being diverted... lets take a look at a map to show you... these lit up areas are the routes people are being moved through... the 173, the 138 and the 18 will take you around that blue cut fire.... but these roads are are heavilly backed

drivers that need to head into the southern california area... youre going to be heading way east. california highway patrol suggest you take the 15 to the 247... thatll take you through apple valley... to the 62 which is near north palm springs. another route would be the 247... to the 18 through big bear. the latest traffic information... where the 18 and 247 meet north of big bear... traffic is moving at 10 miles an hour. opposite direction now... drivers coming in from san bernadino... take highway 18 east near big bear lake to highway 247... thats going to take you near yucca valley.... you can also take the 10east to the 62... this will take you near north palm springs.. and connect to the 247 . that route according to the latest maps does have some sticky spots... but is moving... the only part moving below speed limit is where the 62 and 247 meet near

we talked to a trucker whos stuck in this mess of traffic.... he left los angeles at 1pm today... i just checked in with him... and he was still not back to vegas. an armed robber causes chaos in a local shopping center that led to a swat situation-- and ended his arrest. this happened in front of the tj maxx on durango and elkhorn in the centennial hills area. metro police say it began with a customer who was being harrassed by a man inside. then as she was walking out of the store, that man pulled a gun and robbed her. other customers saw this and ran back in the store yelling that someone had a gun. "i was going to hide in the bathroom, but then we bolted out the front door through the emergency exit and set an alarm off so then i was afraid he would follow us out there. so we hid behind a fence. it was scary." it's not clear how many people were in the store. no one was injured. confusion about a second suspect were cleared up as police say the gunman in custody is the only suspect. we're getting our first look at two of three suspects

hakim jones and malik watson are charged in the arson fire on sherrill circle last november. both men along with darrin wilder are facing kidnapping, murder, arson, robbery and burglary charges. two people died as a result of the crimes and two others were injured. a neighbor rescued a child inside the home at the time. a youth director accused of lewdness told police the young victims were quote promiscuous and provacative. that's according to an arrest report for willis brown. the 44-year-old known as coach is charged with three counts of lewdness involving girls under the age of 16. the report cites interviews with girls at the southern highlands "boys and girls club" who said brown often touched the inappropriately. a judge set brown's bail at 75- thousand dollars with house arrest. he cannot have any contact with minors if he gets out. he's due back in court at the end of the month. the riviera is now a piece of las vegas' past.

"as a first year teacher you're walking in. a lot of naivity- you think you know what you're talking about, you just came out of your teaching program and you're like i've got this. maybe all of those old teachers don't know the new tricks, but there is still a lot that new teachers don't know. us more on the efforts to gain ground on the blaze. the massive blue cut fire caused major evacuations all over the cahone pass it also prompted a state of emergency in california and road closures like this one right behind me interstate 15 has been closed near the fire in both directions heading to and from vegas and it's causing some major back ups this in or keep people safe since the fire has grown to over 15 thousand acres ... it's displaced more than 82 thousand people the red cross is providing shelters for those who need it. one is set up at the jessie turner community center in fontana. another in sultana high school,in hesperia. 34 thousand homes were affected and there's no saying how much property has been damaged by the fire but some locals say the flames were too much for even

moving pretty nicely... the 18 will take you south from the 15 near big bear... and that has some major back ups.. traffic is moving at less than ten miles an hour in some places... there are also multiple reports of crashes along the route. our own fox 5 reporter alyssa deitch caught herself in some of this traffic back up when she was drivin today... she said the smoke was so thick she had to pull over. .
