afternoon after being hit by an suv. this crash happened just before noon on the 15 near d street. according to the nevada highway patrol... the motorcyclist was getting off the freeway going north approaching d street... when a chevy suburban going south somehow hit the yamaha sports bike. the driver remained on the scene but it's not clear what led to the wreck. fox-5 is following up on the death of jose pacheco. he's the worker who was stung hundreds of times by a swarm of bees near a northwest valley home. fox5's vince sapienza is live in the newsroom. he talked to a bee removal company who tells us how you can avoid dangerous situations john, christine.... as you know bees are nothing new to the valley. they've been here for years.. but that doesn't mean the dangers of being stung are something to ignore. bee keepers i spoke with said jose pacheco's death was avoidable. he just needed the proper understanding of the type of bee he

"noises, it still scares me and i'm suited up because i know there is enough in the wall to kill three or four people." daniel millett has been beekeeping for the last 20 years. and he knows exactly how it feels to get stung. he feels the effects 100 to 150 times per season. nats daniel says we live in a quarantined area. after a nine year study, nearly every sample of bees brought back showed all of them as africanized. "if i throw a rock at an argentin, italian or hawaiian bee hive that people use for agriculture, 40-50 bees will chase me away, but if i throw a rock at an africanized bee, 30 or 50-thousand will chase me away." jose pacheco - the worker who lost his life after being stung hundreds of times this week - was not wearing any safety equipment at the time. "since 98-99, this is the first that i know of that a person has actually died." "by anybody's rules he was not compliant to

a second "veteran's village" location will be opening up in downtown las vegas. thanks in part to a generous... one million dollar donation from n- f-l player-- steven jackson. the new campus will have more than 200 units to help house las vegas veterans and their families. jackson played football for eldorado high school and has an n-f-l career spanning twelve years. he was most recently the running back for the new england patriots.
