topic included public funds in the form of a room tax but also narrowing down proposed stadium locations. robert goldstein pres. & coo, sand corporation "bein on the strip ... russell road works as well." cashman field site is now more or less off the table. a strip presence and access to the airport as well as the lure of secondary businesses to the surrounding areas were the key factors. unlv is a top concern, they too will benefit and the sand corp made that very clear. "the sooner ... face of unlv football for ever." all benefits aside it comes down to funds. sand corp need a commitment of $750 million in form of a room tax hike of .88%. the committee is thinking of a .7% increase. without the full $750 million dollar commitment the adelson family will walk away from this deal.
