live from las vegas it's time for fox5 news at 11. a man accused of luring teenage girls through craigslist then sexually exploiting them appears in court today... and an alleged victim reaches out to fox five to share her story... two officers in different state....shot at and saved by their badges... this is fox5 news at 11. local las vegas. tonight a teenager reached out to fox 5 after seeing last night's story on the man accused of running a teenage prostitution ring out of his home. i'm john huck.

maddela. the 18-year-old wanted to share her story .. in hopes other victims of david coil will also come forward. fox5's cyndi lundeberg is live in the newsroom after speaking to the girl... and has an update on coils' case... the 18 year old i talked to... asked that we not use her name... but showed us graphic text messages... and told us when she told david coil to back off... he came on even stronger. i think he should be put in jail for a very long time before he hurts someone else this 18 year o asked to remain annonymous but tells me she was almost a victim of david coil. coil is accused of using craigslist to lure underage girls into sexual encourters with older men. this teen says she was 17 when her and coil began talking and claims coil offered her 3000-dollars a day for work. he was explaining its about massages and sexual stuff and i was lke this is shady and he said dont worry about it my daughter does this too and hes like dont worry we have a metro officer confirm this

coil told this teen she had to be naked... the 18 year old says she stopped talking to him.. but tells me coil wouldnt leave her alone. she still has the text messages... working fully naked 3000 daily coil appeared in court friday... (judge) david andrew coil coil is facing multiple charges of human trafficking and child pornography. coils lawyer argued his client has no criminal record and is a father. the state didnt agree... i understand he doesnt have a recod but thats because he hasnt gotten caught yet this is a look inside coil's home ... kirk duldalou lives next door to the home near spencer and silverado ranch.. and says he coil sent him several pictures. kirk duldulao (dul-duh-lau)- this is who i talked to everday a person i talked to about anthing when i needed advice for this teen... she's thankful she wasnt a victim.. but says when she thinks about how close she was to meeting up with coil... she says the experience is too close for comfort. i was really

coils bail was set at 220-thousand dolalrs and he was ordered to remain on house arrest. he also waived his right to a 15 days preliminary trial... and asked that it be pushed out to 30 days. hell be back in court september 27th. metro police tell us they are still actively looking into this case. the teenager we spoke to today did call crime stoppes and sent photos of her and coils conversation to investigators. metro hopes more victims come forward. a severe thunderstorm is still in effect for the next half hour. but is there more wet weather to come? let's check in with meteorlogist sam argier with a look at the forecast. showers and thunderstorms will be popping up around southern nevada for your friday evening. overnight lows drop into the mid to upper 70s. any storms that form will drop heavy rain at times, bring gusty wind, and the potential for localized flash flooding. the moisture stays in place for saturday, so we'll keep the

joins us on boulder highway near lamb where it happended. and miguel, youre getting another side of the story? exactly, we've heard some details of what happened from nhp, we spoke to witnesses who shared what they saw... tonight i spoke to a woman who says she's a loved one of the man killed by a trooper.. she told me not only did he not fire first, she says he was shot in the back while trying to climb over this wall... " the cop said stop stop, and the man fired " boom" then pop" then all of them ran over to the progressive parking lot" nhp says the shooting started when they pulled over a cadillac with three people inside... " during the corse of the traffic stop one of the adult males exited the vehicle and ran on foot into a parking lot just south of boulder highway" that man has been identified to us by a family member as 41 year old matthew gibbon... and one of gibbon's loved ones told me she heard he didn't shoot first... " he didn't stop, so they shot him in the back, and then what i heard again, is that when he fell to the ground is when

told her thats when he started shooting back... one of those bullets hit the trooper involved, he was saved by his badge, and got to go home to his friends and family. " we hear about it all the time throughout the country but when its one of your own involved in an incident like this its shocking, but we really come together as a family and were grateful the trooper is being ok" gibbon didn't have that same opportunity, he was hurt in the exchange, and died at the scene... " i'm just so distraught that he's gone because i think it was wrongfully, i don't think that that somebody should have been shot in the back while they're running away..." highway patrol says information from the investigation so far discredits the story that gibbon's was shot in the back... gibbon's loved ones hope as the investigation goes on, theyre given some more details on his death. " hopefully an autopsy will be done and to see exactely and then hopefully that will give us an idea of exactely what happened" the investigation

is still going on, and nhp told me its too early to say who shot first... another officer was also saved by his badge today during a shootout with a man in huntington beach, california. police were rushing to a domestic violence call - when they who jumped into a car... flipped a u- turn and started a gun battle. one of the bullets pierced a patrol car's windshield. the badge and the protective vest underneath caused the bullet to ricochet off. that officer was treated by paradedics and released. republican representative joe heck is launching a new campaign ad this weekend. as a veteran, i know serving in the armed forces isn't a job, it's a calling. joe heck is a fellow soldier. he knows the dangers we

republican presidential nominee donald trump spent the day in nevada - first in las vegas and tonight in south lake tahoe. there were no public events - but his private meetings come at a pivotal time in the campaign. fox 5's kevin bolinger joins us in new studio with what trump was trying to accomplish in the silver state. trump spoke tonight at a state republican fundraising dinner in south lake tahoe - an event that was initially open to the media but then the campiagn decided to close it off. this came after a morning and afternoon of private meetings in las vegas on a day trump had cancelled a planned public event here in town. it's been a week of shifts in campign strategy as the race for the white house hits the home stretch. the trump plane arrived and sat parked at signature airport all day. the man who's name is on the bird had a series of meetings ...all held in private. but the media was allowed in for a few brief minutes at trump's hotel on the strip as the candidate sat with

same day hundreds of employees rallied outside the trump international hotel. the rally was loud and spirited, filled with handmade signs and banners for hillary clinton. the workers want donald trump to start contract negotations after they won an unionzation vote. many of the protestors wore bright green shirts for the iron workers union. ron milner came here from sacramento to represent iron workers international.

people turned out for the funeral of sylville smith -- the 23 year old who was fatally shot by a milwaukee police officer earlier this month. smith's shooting on august 13th set off several days of unrest in milwaukee's sherman park neighborhood. recorded on the body cameras of two officers, but they're not being released to the public. authorities say the footage clearly shows smith holding a gun and turning toward an officer when he was shot. state attorney general brad schimel said the videos won't be released until after the county prosecutor decides whether or not to charge the officer who shot smith. a colorado inventor developed an app with the intention of reducing the recent violence seen nationwide during traffic stops. the app is called

algorithms that automatically pick topics and generate text. the move comes months after facebook was accused of political bias in its "trending topics." facebook conducted an internal investigation and said no evidence of bias was found. but, all employees will now go through political bias training. apple has an urgent message for all i-phone users: update your device now. apple rolled out an important security update for the i-phone... after a new piece of malware was found allowing attackers to see nearly everything on your phone. th malware comes from israeli-based n-s-o group -- which openly sells tracking software to governments. they send out a text with a legitimate looking link that installs the malware when you click on it. a valley woman is trying to find the man who saved her from a sticky situation. the deed done by this good samaritan that has her searching to say thanks.
