she says she had no idea where her son was for two hours... fox5s eric hilt spoke with her and has more on the situation and what the school district has to say about it. samone topp still gets emotional when she thinks about what happened here yesterday and how she had no idea where her son was for two hours samone topp says yesterday was the worst day of her life "i can't even think about it ugh t now " because for two hours she said she had no idea where her six year old son was after he was put on the wrong bus after the first day of school "i thought everything was lost, and i was like what am i going to say to his sister when i et home and his brother is not there " six year old dazani started first grade yesterday at steele elementary when classes ended he was supposed to be picked up by daycare, but instead ended up on a bus he didn't belong on "they just picked a

there from my understanding " she says she was at work when she got a call from the daycare - not ccsd - saying dazani was not at pickup and a missing person report had been filed with police "my heart dropped like i just broke down in tears and couldn't think of anything to do but pray" samone rushed to the school...and then two hours later at 4:15 she was told dazana had been found asleep in the back of one of th buses "it's an experience i never want to go through again" today one of her biggest fears is if dazani had gotten off the bus before the driver found him "how was i going to find him? how would other parents contact me?" ccsd says the driver followed protocol by searching the bus row by row after the last stop but samone wants that protocol to change "kids have ids they have is cards, maybe they need to put their bus route on that card" and the school to

"it's just in my mind negligence" ccsd told fox5 dazani was left never alone on the bus but samone says she still doesn't know exactly how he ended up there the school district says the bus never made it back to the bus yard family members mourned the loss bautista today at a special ceremony... after he was killed last week on a construction site near summerlin. firefighters say the scaffolding collapsed... and that now the construction accident will be investigated by osha. fox5's adam herbets took a look at the company's history with osha ... and talked to some people who say... they have a questionable track record. john/ christine at this point it's too early to say whether there were osha violations in this case from last week... it's all still under investigation... but today we found out there

previous cases. just a few months ago -- performance builders incorporated got hit with serious violations... but they were still on this job anyway. from the outside looking in -- it was just another construction site near summerlin. people in tivoli village knew what was going on... but nobody knew that a worker would lose his life on august 22nd... when las vegas firefighters say the scaffolding fell apart. he was one of these guys who just put his head down and went to work every day two men were able to jump off in time... but not ricardo baustista now -- days later -- some people are saying someone should have seen this coming. once i heard the company... i wasn't surprised they've been on our radar screen for a while but now they're certainly number one on our radar screen. frank hawk -- who works for the carpenters union -- says before the accident ever happened... he had been getting calls from people who say they knew the site was unsafe... and now he wishes

it shut down it was like a prophecy. and then you start going through the self guilt fox5 took a good look at the company's history with osha. performance builders incorporated has been under review at least nine times... but in three cases, investigators found quote "serious violations." when we asked to see the specifics -- osha told us they couldn't get that to us for a few days. this should be available for the general publ see. you should know about a company that you're going to work for. what we do know is this -- the last three serious violations were just months ago... and it appears to be related to a problem with the scaffolding. the union says -- they don't have a doubt in their minds... that this company has blood on its hands. these violations were tied to scaffolds at recent as may and the fact that they're allowed on these job sites just shows that people find

we reached out to tivoli village and performance builders incorporated to give them a chance to comment -- but they haven't responded. the victim in this case -- ricardo bautista was thirty years old... and leaves behind his wife and three children. john/ christine new at six tonight-- a woman returns home to find it had been broken into and burglarized. among the items taken-- her mother's ashes. "i just want my mom's ashes back.

anybody but my family and myself." megan wilkes ( ) says she returned home sunday afternoon to find all of her valuables and her mother's valuables and ashes-- gone. her mother died in june... and her remains were inside a locked wooden box she suspects she left for a short time sunday afternoon and came home to find all of her jewelry, purses, and her mother's jewelry, phone and ipad... had all been taken. "i've never had a problem living here never felt more violated or angry or hurt it's like my mom dying all over again i have the same emotions and every time i turn around something else is missing nd i'm heartbroken all over again." wilkes is pleading for the person who has her mother's ashes to return them.... and is asking anyone with information to call police. metro police opened a new area command station to serve the western portion of the valley. the spring valley area command will

31 square miles. it will cover charleston to flamingo and from the i- 15 towards red rock. metro says neighbors who live in the area will have faster response times and more officer engagement. explanation of what caused the willow fire in calaveras county, california. fox's doug johnson reports. george says: "i've seen a lot of things this is one of the most bizarre." this is how authorities say the willow fire started... the back right tire of this 2002 kia rio. butzler says "a vehicle driving down the road on a flat tire, basically, with a shower of sparks coming out behind it." chp officer toby butzler says the driver, 44-year-old renee hogan was oblivious to what her car was doing... starting a dozen spot fires along mountain ranch road. a good samaritan had to intervene. butzler says: "eventually, a person behind the car tried to get her attention, couldn't for whatever reason, got around behind her, blocked the roadway with his vehicle. she came to a... that made her stop basically." george says: "and the rim was ground down to about right here. that much of it was actually missing, so she drove it for quite a distance." big john george was one of the first to arrive on scene with his tow truck. george says: "now, when i got there it was still steaming and smoldering and

putting it out, so i stopped to assist." in fact, butzler says hogan didn't even realize her own car was on fire... as the samaritan had to rescue her. butzler says: "pulled her out of the car and kind of, like, 'your car's on fire.' she didn't know." hogan was arrested for driving on a suspended license and for driving under the influence... butzler saying that she was on pain pills and cannabis. from inside the calaveras county jail, hogan declined to speak to us. but cal fire investigators will also be charging her with 6 additional charges for starting the 450 acre willow fire, wh 30% contained. evan says: "the crews are out there improving the lines, mopping up all the hot spots, making sure everything is out around the homes." many are glad that good samaritan stopped hogan when he did. george says: "this particular fire was less than a quarter mile from the bottom of the butte fire footprint. there's a lot of new growth. if it had got up in there with the wind that we were having yesterday, it could've really got bad." since doug's report containment of the willow fire has grown to 60- percent.

snowstorm in colorado. heavy rain and hail caused flash flooding in colorado springs. snow plows had to be dispatched to clean it all up. the severe weather caught many people by surprise. some people were forced to abandon their cars in the flooded streets. even parked cars became boats. the floods were so strong they even moved walls... and filled an entire basement from floor to ceiling. mos says: "i just got into my bed with my dogs and locked my door because water kept coming in and coming in." wh waters cleared... and the hail stopped falling... the long cleanup began. beating the zika virus could already be possible... through a drug already on the market. scientists have discovered that three existing drugs could be useful in counteracting the effects of the virus. experiments so far have only been conducted in petri dishes -- but the results were dramatic, even reversing some of the damage previously thought impossible. the drugs are currently used to treat cancer, hepatitis-c and

lays potato chips and bottles of champagne. alhanoshe says: "i told her to stop because she panicked and kept her foot on the pedal and i told her to stop, so she finally stopped." the encinitas sheriffs department says the driver was a 77-year-old woman that simply mistook the gas pedal for the brake pedal and was unable to react fast enough to correct her mistake. in seattle, retail and food-service businesses with hourly employees might have to make some big changes. city lawmakers are looking at a number of proposals... among them... requiring employers to schedule shifts two weeks in advance... compensate workers for last-minute changes or when they're scheduled but don't get called into work... and provide a minimum 10 hours rest between open and closing shifts. they'd also have to offer hours to existing employees before hiring new staff. in 2014, san francisco became the first major u-s city to pass similar legislation.
